Character creation restriction ever get lifted?

I managed to bring in a friend to the game with the recruit a friend campaign but I'm on the horribly over populated Balmung server so they're not able to make a character on my server and play with me. We've tried waiting, even at odd hours when traffic is low and character creation restrictions lift, but it's remained the only server to pretty always restrict creation. The time is cutting into the 30 day free trial and now my friend is losing interest and doesn't wanna play anymore. So what's the deal? how am I supposed to get my friend in and play with them if they can't even get on my server?

Or you could transfer to a lower pop server, if you're willing to, for your friend.

Have your friend check this post whenever it updates. That said, Balmung is (from what I've heard) a highly populated server, so it's definitely going to be tougher to find an opening. Keep trying though, weekdays are likely a better time to give it a shot.

You can get in at the early morning hours. I play on Balmung since 1.0, and my boyfriend just started playing. We got him on the server at around 6:30 AM EST. It will be open then.
