Eorzea's Next Top Model - Cycle 3 Round 2

Welcome back, ENTM fans! We're off to a brilliant start, with some amazin' work comin' out of our models in th'first round. Sadly someone had t'leave, an' Ferah has been pressed int'continued service with th'Maelstrom. Adam would be joinin' her...but alas, it appears BOTH Rho an' Sera must've gotten eaten by a Goobbue or somethin', since they've both fallen right off th'face of th'world an' didn't get an entry in for round two...meanin' Adam gets another chance! So, let's move on t'round two!

Now, introducin' a brand new feature t'Eorzea's Next Top Model. We're to sit down with one o' the survivin' models each week an' get to know 'em a little better. Startin' off is th'one who came up with th'idea in th'first place - th'wonderfully talented Sangriah! I'd recorded our interview on a linkpearl, so let's hear what she had t'say...

Tyriont: Welcome, Sangriah! Thanks for givin' me some o' your time. First off, is there any particularly interestin' story as t'how you came t'be named th'way you are?

Sangriah: I have no idea of the origins of my name. I am unsure of what my full surname is. I was born into a family that maintained the old nomadic ways but this unfortunately lead us too close to the Garleans who spared me on the pretense that my young mind was still malleable enough to be corrected to their way of thinking.

OOC: Sangriah is the name I gave my character in FFXI. I started as a Red Mage and wanted a name that reflected my affection for the color. All the names I thought of were taken so I went with my favorite red wine: Sangria and added an “h” on the end to make it more of a name and not just an item. In 1.0 her name was Sang Riah. It’s a weird thing be bothered by but I didn’t like all the NPC’s being so informal and calling her Sang like they all knew her. When ARR launched I added the V’ to commemorate an old nickname from FFXI: Lady V.

Tyriont: An' a beautiful name it is, regardless! Now, when you ain't modelin', how d'you prefer t'spend your days around Eorzea?

Sangriah V': I wander. My affinity to Oschon is very strong and the wanderlust cannot be denied. I do get called back often by the Atecedent. Minfilia’s a linkpearl abuser >.< She slipped me a venture after my last errand.

OOC: I’m pretty slow to clear content. Mostly I just hang out and play dress up. Sang is the Barbi I didn’t play with as a child.

Tyriont: Aye, have t'wonder why she doesn't just talk to someone over th'pearl rather'n callin' 'em back jus' t'talk at 'em anyways. So what made you choose t'enter the ENTM contest?

Sangriah V': Wandering aimlessly has a way of putting you on a path even if you don’t know it. I am always right where I’m supposed to be. I saw a flyer for ENMT up at Baderon’s and thought by Thal’s balls, why not!? I’m also hoping that if I manage to win, someone out there just may recognize me…maybe a relative. Someone who can tell me more about the people I came from.

OOC: I stumbled across Xev’s tumblr account: http://whm-sical.tumblr.com/ while looking at a new follower of my own http://m1-sange.tumblr.com/ Coincidentally she had just made a post about her entry into the contest. I was a fan of the show during its first few years and since I love to take screenshots, I figured I’d give it a try.

Tyriont: Got a fittin' question for a wanderin' soul like yourself up next. Where's your favourite place in all o'Eorzea?

Sangriah V': My favorite place in all of Eorzea is at Eirwen Mackenzie’s side. Eorzea has many wonders to behold but they are best witnessed with a partner. Our special place is Oschon’s Torch.

OOC: The Howling Eye. Either hard or extreme. I love the music in there and the tank coordination. I’m a little disappointed that they didn’t implement a lower ilvl cap on the hard mode since so much of the fight mechanics are being lost due to OP players burning through everything.

Tyriont: Ain't that sweet? Going t'bring a tear to this sea dog's eye. Now then, a bit o' a challenge for you...what's your story, in th'form of a haiku?

Sangriah V': Wildwood to the core.
Free to roam Eorzea.
Wisdom must be earned.

Tyriont: Nicely done! One last question 'fore I let you go. If you could choose one person t'be grand ruler of all o' Eorzea, who would it be?

Sangriah V': Those who wish to rule only seem to crave destruction; Van Darnus and Ultima, the coming whispers of Omega. We are constantly seeking revolution from those who rule over us. We should all seek to rule over our own hearts and be responsible for our own piece of Eorzea. She belongs to us all.

Tyriont: Now there's a hell of an answer! Thanks for your time lass, an' good luck with th'rest o' the contest.

Hopefully the lot o' you enjoyed that lil' interlude! Come back next week when we get t'know another o' our wonderful models. But enough o' my blatherin' on...you're here for round two!

Rules are th'same as before. I need each o' you to go through an' pick our your favourite Four models from each o' the lists. That's four men, an' four women. No pickin' the same person twice, that doesn't count! T'round closes at midnight (EST) on Wednesday, November 12th, at which point votin' scores will be combined with judges scores t'determine who goes home! Th'same ten post minimum is still in effect.

Now then, as I mentioned at th'beginnin'...we're in th'unfortunate situation of havin' already lost two male contestants. After some discussion, it's been decided that in order to bring things back in line, this week there will be -no- contestant eliminated from th'male side, havin' already lost our second contestant by default. However, I should still like t'ask everyone t'vote for th'men anyways so as they get a better idea of how t'improve an' see how they're all doin'!

Holy crazy this was a tough round to choose, each were great tbh, just some of course stood out higher than others.

Here is my top 4 female models

Eirwen Mackenzie - I was a super fan of Xena back in the day, and to see someone do Gabrielle is kinda rare, this was a really good shot and good use of items/props. Simple flowing meadow but you added to it, good job.

Overlord Rikkustrife - The super amazing thing about this is, if you died your hair white you could have easily said Pirotess from Records of Lodoss War as well. I was a lil confused on the choice of scenery but then thought maybe its suppose to be the weapon x facility, so if that's the case, good work, if not, pay extra attention to backgrounds for future rounds ^_^

Rhayah Relenah - this was superb, I am actually a bit flabbergasted on how you created the depth/sizing in this shot on an overall whole. 3 stars, 1 extra for a throwback Saturday cartoon!

Sakuraya Kai - pure gold, Yda is such a fun character in the story to follow, and the attention to detail in this photo pays off (was a close call with Miki Hoshi) what put this one on top was having the extra lil help of a certain lalafell Well done overall.

Top 4 Male models

Epsil Ion - this was truly marvelous, I really don't see how you could get any closer with the items available in game, I especially enjoyed the background of the stained glass window, it added some major class to this photo, well done sir!

Flare Raulbel - once again, a fun shot making the most use of current releases of the game, this simply would not have worked without the tea set being available, I am sorta on the fence about the background not expressing more madness! But good choice overall.

Jinx Fireboot - There is a lot to be said about anyone wanting to cosplay as Edward Wang Hwe Pepel Cybulski the 4th, and I think that says it :P What made this shot work was A the pup and B the lighting, it gave it that more Mars feel with the red sky, so good thinking !

Marik Destiel - Yes, its not a crossbow, but its fine really ^_^, this was a cool idea, a few things that would really have amped this up was having it be a bit darker (for mood) and maybe a corpse on the ground, but still this works and I enjoyed it, what is really cool is I will see if I can get Norman Reedus to sign this photo instead of one of his in the next couple weeks at my wizardworld, if that is ok with you? And if I do of course I will upload a photo of it

Marik Destiel - Yes, its not a crossbow, but its fine really ^_^, this was a cool idea, a few things that would really have amped this up was having it be a bit darker (for mood) and maybe a corpse on the ground, but still this works and I enjoyed it, what is really cool is I will see if I can get Norman Reedus to sign this photo instead of one of his in the next couple weeks at my wizardworld, if that is ok with you? And if I do of course I will upload a photo of it

1. L'yhan Nunh: Great posing, great lighting, great angles, great expression, and we can see who the character is?! Great picture.
2. Epsilon Ion: Very nice posing and lighting. Teleporting always looks pretty. My only critique is that I wish you were doing something a little more Irvine-y.
3. Flare Raulbel: Very nice expression. My only critique is that you have a picture quality problem, it looks very pixely. D:
4. Fate Lhas: Very nice use of skin color and your race's sitting pose (I always hated that I couldn't sit on the ground). The atmosphere is also very nice. My only critique is that if the name wasn't at the bottom, I would have had a hard time figuring out who you were. I think the clothing is a bit too loose for Nightcrawler (I've only ever seen him in more form fitting clothing, minus the live-action movie).

1. Xev Bellwyn: Very nice posing, angles, lighting, scenery, and use of an extra. Your costume is very spot on.
2. Rhaya Relenah: Great use of your skin color and of forced perspective! A very cute idea.
3. Kaiyoko Star: Nice body angle, posing, lighting, and scenery. I've never played LoL, so I have to go by what I can google, and I think your costume is very good.
4. Lowena Fae: Great posing and I like the sick-ish green lighting. I can also tell instantly who you were. My only critique is that I wish you were a smidge to the right, you're too centered and being able to see more of the Morbol behind you would have added to the shot, I think.
