Fairly recently, on CNJ, my character acquired something called Esuna (I think thats what it is). What situations may I find it useful?

A great many.
When looking at the party list, all negative debuffs will be listed first on each member. They are in a little box, all with different icons depending on the buff, and there is a downward facing point on them. Things like poison, paralyze, heavy, disease, etc, should always be removed ASAP with Esuna. There are some debuffs that cannot be dispelled via esuna, but you'll figure that out naturally as you level. A general rule I always go by when doing something new, is try and dispel all debuffs. If it doesn't come off, then you know it won't work in the future.
ive noticed if healer dont use it on poison debuff in satasha HM scorpion boss its generally a wipe :P so its prolly 1 of the handiest skills u get XD
Esuna(and leach the SCH equivalent) are critical spells for healers. It is needed to remove all sorts really harmful stuff that gets applied to the party. Esuna stuns on the tank ASAP. Sometimes there will be stuff that can not be removed by esuna, and it is not entirely obvious what they are, and those will have to be learned by trial and error.
Low level stuff? Useless. End game? Life saver.
Far from useless in low level stuff. Poison in both Brayflox and Toto-Rak come to mind. Yes they can be done without esuna, but esuna makes it easier, therefore useful. Also paralyze and heavy are a nuisance no matter what level you are. And besides, it's good practice for a healer CNJ to get used to using esuna, so they're ready come endgame.
From what I'm seeing, Esuna isn't useful enough in low level dungeons, is that right?
I'm currently leveling up the CNJ skill on the character, so I can be closer to getting the WHM job and a wider range of dungeons. By the way, can Esuna be used with ACN, SMN or SCH as well?
Correct, you can just cure yourself out of poison damage in the low levels, it's not till Brayflox last boss that the poison ticks get bad since it a stacking debuff(more stack more damage it ticks) and Esuna is a CNJ/WHM only skill. SCH get leeches which I believe isn't as handy because it requires LV40 and Eos out (though it cost no MP on your part)From what I'm seeing, Esuna isn't useful enough in low level dungeons, is that right?

In some of them it really is. Toto-rak's damage can be a little overwhelming for new healers during the first and second bosses if you don't Esuna allies who get poisoned (except the tank, because boss AI will just repoison everything if you do). Most actually significant effects that need to be Esuna'd begin showing around level 30 dungeons onwards - Brayflox and Cutter's Cry in particular have bosses with attacks that don't just eat significant HP but also leave nasty DoTs that can be Esuna'd off.
While yes, it requires level 40, I'm pretty sure Leeches is neither tied to your pet choice nor free.CH get leeches which I believe isn't as handy because it requires LV40 and Eos out (though it cost no MP on your part)
