Random crashes after killing mobs

So pretty much every time i kill a Thistletail Marmot near camp Drybone the game crashes the instant i get the killing blow. granted my laptop should never be able to play FFXIV with its crapy integrated hp graphics driver but magically it has had no problems on pretty much the lowest settings and it only crashes after i kill a marmot and not a dodo or leve quest mobs.
any idea what it might be? im fairly certain its not overheating because before the patch i had no problems with leaving the client open in Ul'dah all day. Doesn't seem to happen if i kill the marmots far from the camp.
