    My buff macros.

Okay so now that I know what the cooldowns are. I finished the macros. However two people chimed in saying a a macro with 13 abilities would be a bad idea

    Macro 1
    • /macroicon "Sentinel"
    • /ac "Manaward"
    • /ac "Manawall"
    • /ac "Quelling Strikes"
    • /ac "Rampart"
    • /ac "Convalescence"
    • /ac "Senitnel"
    • /ac "Bulwak"
    • /ac "Tempered Will"
    • /ac "Awareness"
    • /ac "Foresight"
    • /ac "Vengeance"
    • /ac "Perfect Dodge"
    • /ac "Featherfoot"
    • /merror off
    Macro 2
    • /macroicon "Phantom Dart"
    • /ac "Swiftcast"
    • /ac "Raging Strikes"
    • /ac "Hawk's Eye"
    • /ac "Bloodbath"
    • /ac "Life Surge"
    • /ac "Presence of Mind"
    • /ac "Divine Seal"
    • /ac "Fight or Flight"
    • /ac "Internal Release"
    • /merror

    Now I have two questions:

    1. Why would macros with 13 abilities be bad?
    2. Should I split these macros into 2 macros each?

I'm a bit confused; how is this supposed to help? Even if you had it down to where you unfailingly activated the desired buff by order of cooldown, you won't actually want to use every single buff on cooldown, which will throw off your timing. Too many shared buffs per class/job.

This is mostly (The only serious use of them would likely be on my BLM main, which has only 2 buff for offensive) meant for fun like my Blizzard III>Thunder III>Fire III macro. And to help save space on macros and hotbars. If I wanted specific buffs outside of BLM I'll would just click the skill instead of the macro.

That said. It does appear to be too much. I'll split the defensive macro.

dont' use macros for your abilities
the delay on firing off an offensive or definsive ability is horrible

also, paladin for example would be horrible, you would be using the wrong ability at different times
ie: you should be using the tempered will but sentinel pops, certain abilities needs to be used at different times, not mashed together.

Macros in ff14 is useless 95% of the time, did I mention the animation lock delay is horrible?

That link is exactly the reason I wnated to macro the GCD skills. To save space on macros for other classes (and eventually crafting rotations). though so far I only have macros for NIN (Mudra combinations fro practicing purposes), BLM (just a Flare macro and the aforementioned magic macro), WHM (mouse over macros and Holy) and ARC (Quicksummons and a DoT macro).

Wait I;m confused. What did you mean by GCD? Beucase the skills I macroed in OP are not in the Global Cooldown

i dont even know how you thought what he was doing is a good idea. its not. mudras have a gcd of .5 seconds. macros have a built in delay of 1 second. everytime you would use that macro you lose 1.5 seconds. as for the skills, i was talking about your BlizzIII macro you mentioned.

Oh that was more for fun than anything. And because I though Tridisaster was a fitting icon fro a BLM elemental macro

The Mudra macros are for practices sake, to help me memorize the combinations if I forget them.

In either case they are not likely to be used in say...EX Primals or Coil. I barely even use them in faceroll dungeons.

Also unlike the guy in the link most of my macros are either messaging, gearsets, mouseovers or just a spell with Swiftcast attached. I also am not THAT obessed as to make 97 macros just for single actions
