Black Screen upon exiting the game

Having an issue every time I log out (confirmed with another player that this happens to him also).

Click Exit Game > Game logs me out and shows a black screen (and the standard FFXIV cursor).

In order to completely exit the game, I have to end the process via Task Manager.

This happened rarely before the patch, but since 4.1 it has happened every time.

PC Specs:
Intel i7 3.5ghz (o/c'd to 4.5)
GF GTX680
16GB RAM
Windows 8

Not really sure if this should be posted in the bug forum as I am unsure whether or not this is an issue with my PC or if it is a common issue for other people since the patch.

I have to say that I don't think it is a problem with your PC. I have seen this happen a few times for my wife who also plays on the PC, but in addition to that, it has occurred (albeit rarely) for me on the PS4. She has to do the same as you, and for me I have to hit the PS button to back out of the game and then use Close Application. I've tried waiting on it whenever I have seen it but it just stays that way, sometimes even has sound in the background, and I have also tried backing out of the game and then going back in but it apparently stays this way regardless of platform until you close it.

Not sure where it came from, but I know I've seen it here and there for quite some time prior to the patch.

Hmm thanks for confirming that the issue is happening to you on more then one platform. I guess it's just a bug in one of the more recent patches/hotfixes.

Touch wood, this hasn't actually happened to me in a while - however I have seen the "ffxiv.exe has stopped responding" message come up a few times, and Windows asks me if I would like to end the process (instead of having to do this via Task Manager.)
