XI Trial?

So, I've played XIV since the release of 2.0. I've been super curious about XI though... I checked out the site, and tried to sign up for the 14 day free trial, however it doesn't let me have a code... SO, I was wondering if there were some kind of referral program or whatnot, where someone who is a subscriber to XI can give out a free trial code etc. to someone, so that I could try it out. I'm super dying to give it a go

Unfortunately any of the account processes with ffxi are... rather obtuse. If you post to /r/ffxi with more details, we can probably help get you in the game. (Sadly, this thread will likely be locked or deleted for being off topic).

I don't think XI has recruit-a-friend codes exactly, closest thing being the gold worldpass...

Right now you can download the client during a Campaign, will give you all the stuff up to SoA... as for the Code, IDK how that free thing works

The free thing is a return campaign, existing players only, if you're new you have to buy the game at an 85% discount for the discount campaign.
