I've had DF groups get through to Twisters. Heck I had a DF group nearly 1-shot Ramuh EX. Anything can happen.

We are putting together a group! : ) http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...13#post2564013

So because the intelligence of the average gamer has gone down in the past 10 years we should cater to those with boarderline mental disabilities and make the content clearable by a monkey?
No sorry. T5 is BEYOND simple. If people can't clear it how it is when its doable by 4 people they don't need to be there.
Raid content is not and should not be designed for anyone with a pulse to be able to clear it. If you want to clear it and think you are personally good enough to clear it. Find some friends at your skill level and go do it. With current year you don't even need a full group.
Newer players to MMO games will likely draw from their experiences playing FPS games, GTA, Dragon Age, Skyrim, etc.. and they will evaluate a MMO based on that criteria. But other online games (and offline RPGs) are designed to be picked up, played for maybe 5 months and then abandoned for when the next big game comes along. A Veteran MMO gamer knows that the experience of the game is stretched out over years, and if crafted properly, it leaves players with some of the best gaming experiences to be found anywhere. This is the problem most content is solo and you get your group action from a cross-server queueing tool. This is not like older MMOs where servers developed real communities. It's more like MacDonald's Drive-Thru, where you queue up, do your run, then never meet those people again.
Remember that "DF groups" can often be "5-7 man premade groups that went through DF to fill the slots".
Yesterday we wanted to do T5 for a friend who returned from a break, after waiting for a while in PF we decided to go through DF to fetch a healer and a dps, while they did make the clear harder we ended up asking them to suicide before divebombs and got them (and my friend) their clear.
Uh what's the point of going through DF if you just make those people suicide lol. Other than, "just to fill slots". It is not helping the OP figure things out. Only advice I can give is to keep at it, you will kill her eventually and feel stronger and better for it. IF you think t5 is hard you aren't ready for SCoB.Remember that "DF groups" can often be "5-7 man premade groups that went through DF to fill the slots".

Oh no I was just saying that not every DF team consists of "randoms", while for the person who solo queued it may seem like a pug the other players could be part of a coordinated partial premade, for those saying they can clear it in DF just fine. And yeah we kinda were just using the other two people as fillers, one of them actually knew what to do most of the fight, he was only inexperienced at twisters (and wiped the raid two times), though the healer... he definitely wasn't ready to clear t5, though I hope he does better in scob.Uh what's the point of going through DF if you just make those people suicide lol. Only allow 16 people to do T5 if the boss music is changed to this

Pretty much this. The proper way to nerf Twintania to the point that it's easy is remove the knock back effect of divebombs and the aeo effect of twisters. I think pros would have problems with twisters if you doubled the number of players. Just increases the likelihood of stepping on a twister and killing everyone, not to mention more people that can miss divebombs.Only allow 16 people to do T5 if the boss music is changed to this

You sir, made my fucking dayOnly allow 16 people to do T5 if the boss music is changed to this

T5 is peanuts compared to T9.
SCOB & FCOB require coordination & players knowing their class, understanding& testing.
All the people who have killed those have been there for not 1 hour but multiple days counted together. They spent the time to learn the fight & have spend the time to learn their classes.
You sir, should just keep playing casual and leave the raiders alone. If you wanna be carried that is your right but don't cry about it.
ontopic: T5 is all about learning as is this entire game, please try harder.

You can do what I did. Since I didn't want to waste people's time in PF until I was comfortable with the fight, I used the DF to get as much practice as possible. In my case, since I don't have a dedicated static or FC, it took me 3 weeks of daily practice in DF, and finally got a clear during the fourth attempt or so in a PF.
This also teaches you communication, which is key in all Turns starting with 5 and up. As a tank, I used macros and markers in DF religiously to alert people of conflags, divebombs, twisters, dreadknights, etc. You'll be surprised at how much this can improve your PUG.
Just gotta persevere. If I (and many other people) cleared T5 through DF/PF alone, then so can you.
