    Suggestion for balance

    My suggestion is to take Monk and Dragoon out of the game, they are utterly unnecessary. Bard can put up Requiem as much as possible, Peon is not needed as the Ninjas can just Goad each other. Seems like SE made melee (or rather Ninja) able to compete with range again; in the process, they made the two previous already fairly useless melee now COMPLETELY useless. Good job. Kudos.

    I'm sure most people don't care since they can just play whatever job is OP but just thought I'll throw it there. I know balancing can be tricky and new jobs/classes tend to be OP upon release but somehow I just don't think SE is gonna address this, especially since they hate nerfs. Look at this patch, despite there already not being a point to bringing a melee besides LB, all they did was gave Dragoon a hardly noticeable buff.

    The idea behind each of the jobs is to do damage in different ways, so each job has their own flavor. I think adjustments/changes would be prudent but to remove from game completely? Really?

    According to your logic we might as well only have one tank since it already does the job well instead of having 2 and soon to be 3.

    Now and before melee were always the highest DPS if played right, so you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

    Ninja has uber dominance on solo, right. Or rather, Mr.Anybody can output way better damage than they could ever do with the other dps classes without even having to work hard for it. I will give you that.

    Except :

    1) Ninja have horrible AoE possibilities. One useless AoE skill (way more efficient to burn each target solo if there are less than 3 and more than 5 in my experience), katon which is useless in end game (unless maybe if kassatsu affects it) and Doton which is actually the only real option for AoE. Even DRG have better AoE possibilities than that.
    Being the "king of common gameplay solo target" has a cost

    2) Ninja seems to have very little progression margin in damage output. The gameplay is simple, 2 DoTs, 2 switchable buffs with one you don't really want 90% of the time due to needing silence or not wanting to random stun targets when you need not to, and because mug is useless as it is. Add to that a debuff which will never be applied if there is a WAR OT, and 2 sneak attacks with one only having a real use. Anyone can do it. Even the ninjutsu rotation is pretty simple (huton > suiton > doton/raiton and add a "kassatsu - raiton/katon" when up).


    It's not because the job is OP that the masses jumped on it. It's because the job itself is overall easier to use to a good level. Doesn't mean the average Joe will ever be able to go further. Doesn't mean that the other melee classes are useless. Doesn't even mean they were useless before...

    Until they find themselves in endgame content and quit ninja because it's actually harder to play well than it looks on paper, one screwup and you get punishes really hard for it.
    The masses play ninja because it's cool I mean they are ninjas.
    I was actually looking forward for THF but Ninja is close enough I guess.

    I might be wrong but I though MNK still did highest dps if not second highest in game especially with a NIN around.
    All of the classes in this game have there benefits and the game is fairly balanced afaic
    WHM - AOE healing (I play sch well and I cant doubt the raw aoe heals from WHM kick SCH ass) burst damage
    SCH Mitigation/HPS, burst heals/min
    SMN constant high caster dps + utility
    BLM high dps, high burst
    MNK sustained high dps
    DRG good dps + AOE melee damage
    LOLBRDs jk ^^ utility, dps boost, and decent dps.

    Your suggestion to fix a perceived issue with an overpowered class is to remove two other classes.

    Your rational is because SE supposedly does not like to take back what they have given.

    I'm going to let that logic casserole bake for a while.

    2 MNKs is always better than 2 NINs, throw away those kool aid OP, besides NIN doin LESS DMG than DRG in final coil.
