It's not meant to always be up because BLM is turret DPS and you're not meant to be mobile, it would remove all the difficulty in playing the job if it gave you any more chances to move than it already does with SC and procs.By that logic there's no reason for Surecast to exist at all (OK, arguably true heh) since Swiftcast does everything Surecast can do today + makes spells faster. (I don't think there's any way you can interrupt a spell done via Swiftcast, is there?)
Surecast is a subset of swiftcast, it would still be so if it made you immune to movement interruption, just a little less weak.
Why have it? Because swiftcast isn't always up, I guess.
I am against killing the fun in playing BLM for people who don't learn how to manage movement.


Can anyone here against this idea post one reason why *any* BLM would use Surecast, outside of PvP.
I'm definitely for this idea for FL. Melee have enough stuns/gap closers for the balance to already be there. They even have Purify to break sleeps/roots, which if you're a summoner and they Purify the root you're basically SOL anyway. So to me this seems more than welcomed, even if they had to include the half damage like Swiftcast.

Er, adding it to Surecast wouldn't mean it is "always up". Surecast has a 30s recast time. So once every 30s you would be able to move while casting. It would give Surecast a reason to exist, right now its basically worthless.
(Would make it a useful cross-class for SMN as well)



Making a caster able to continue casting while moving? I do believe you just made a worthless spell useful. Bravo!


Why don't you just use swiftcast? It does pretty much what you are asking for.

- casting while moving
- no MP regenereration while unleashed weapon
- slower movement speed while unleashed weapon
- Character stop for some seconds during leash or unleash the weapon
