Getting my atma upgraded has never been more challenging

So I recently got all my atma stones, and due to having my Burtgang for my PLD, I decided to go WHM. It's my second loved class. It was one of my primary classes when leveling to 50 in the first place.

Recently though, I've had a problem. I've been doing High Roulette as a healer just in hopes of randomly getting one of my needed dungeons. I haven't been lately but that's no big deal. The problem you ask? I've been left behind. I was stoneskinning, or contemplating loot for a few seconds, and my tank ran ahead. Not only has the tank run ahead, but he's pulled massive mobs. So I'm left sprinting to catch up, unsure if I need the loot that's dropped, and trying to save his life when he's got 100HP left.

Let me tell you, it doesn't work. I've gotten annoyed to the point that I call them out on it, each and every time.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening though? I get that dungeons would be awesome if they were ran faster, but come on.

A lot of people are just doing their daily high and expert roulettes for the tomestones. They may be very well geared, and just assume everyone else in the party has it on farm mode as well. They want it to go as quickly as possible... pretty much like a speedrun every time.

Communication is the key. If the tank is going too fast and especially if you are low on MP (like after a boss fight) you need to say something and (politely) ask them to wait a bit.

If you regularly enter dungeons with random parties, it might be handy to have a macro (maybe even with an alert sound?) telling the party that you need them to slow down a bit if things start to get out of control.

maybe it's just me, but i am failing to see what relevance the difficulty of upgrading your atma weapon and your undesirable dungeon experience have in common

loot timers do last for a very long time. you could ask tank to wait a moment after completing a pull.

Same here. Don't see how this has anything to do with atma

In response to the thread title and not the post itself (two opposing things):

I have BRD Animus with 46/75 infusions complete. This was before they made Atma gain easier. Anywho, I dropped BRD because I stink at it, and has been going back to my WHM roots.

For the past week, the FATE "Enemy of my Enemy" or "Enmity of my Enemy" (whatever it's called), has NOT been popping. I was at the spot on my off day from work for over 6 hours, and the NPC never spawned. And yes, I know the position and requirements as I had to do it on BRD.

In return, I caved and got Yagrush, but in my spare time, I continue to go to East Shroud to wait for the FATE. It's the last item I need to complete current book. Sadly, this is only Book 2!? for me.

I had that fate for my first book. I waited for in on Saturday and it poped for me. So it does spawn.

Ive helped 2 FC members with that fate in the past two days, it has been spawning fine. Hopefully you will get it done soon. :/

Edit: It spawned yesterday (Monday) around 2pm EST, maybe that will help you figure out when it will pop again.

Not sure what that has to do with atma o.o But unfortunately, it's the way most DF parties are, now. I main WHM, so I know the feels >_< (I Haaattteee having to chase down my party for even something simple like protect -_-)

The only thing I can say is to let the loot sit in the pop up until there's a moment for you to look at it (thats what I do when I'm actually debating gear for alt jobs and people run off, but I usually hit it when theres a lull (either something isn't hitting hard and I've SSed/regenned for insurance or I'm in the middle of SSing down the line before a boss pull... I guess thats a good thing about slow cast time for SS...) - but as of late, I haven't given that much of a damn about the loot unless I'm in ST/Coils). Half the time, no one needs it or just roll greed for the hell of it/secondaries/free GC seals anyway (with exception to those dungeons that give nothing but mats). But yeah - I think the best option is to create a macro asking to slow down/hold up/need MP/etc with the sound effect (since by experience, I don't always visually notice chat text when I'm focused, either) if you don't think you will have a moment of down time.

    A macro of something like,
    /p ~~Please wait one moment!~~ <se.1>
    or
    /P ~~Please wait, I need MP!~~ <se.5>

(or any sound effect/se number that you think will get most people's attention. I find the drum beat se most noticable since there aren't many sounds that are so oftenly similar)

ANd leave it on your hotbar to press when you need that moment

Only suggestions we can offer x.x
....other than spitefully letting your party die when they don't listen >.>; Which I myself can't bring myself to do *Too much of a softy*

Speaking as a tank... If your tank is running ahead and pulling large mobs without you around or with you having no MP, let him*.

    It's the only wake-up call we'll hear.

    * Offer may not be valid if one of the DPS is a SMN.
