Don't Use Haddock Dip (for fishing)

After eating haddock dip (which raises perception and gp) I caught absolutely zero hq fish. Level 16 fish that my perception as a melded lvl 50 fisher should have been capped on. I don't think this is bad luck, as I've never seen such low catch rates. I caught 1 hq fish today, and that was before I ate the dip.

Has anyone experienced problems like this after eating food during fishing? I've experienced similar issues like this before with other foods but they easily could have been explained away as bad luck. This time, it seems too strange to be coincidence or bad luck. I'll also be filing this in the bug forums =)

If I remember correctly eating perception food/having high perception doesn't scale well or help you get more HQ fish to mooch. Along with that if youre trying to mooch a legendary, you're actually hurting your chances of catching the legendary itself because of the higher gathering required to real in a HQ legendary fish. I've heard horror stories of people trying to catch their Orgloi-Korkois, but because of perception over melds, it actually hindered their chances and some either gave up or were forced to re-meld/wear less gear to actually catch them.

So literally from what I gather you can just wear base gear with no perception over melds, and eat gathering/Gp food and be able to mooch any fish just fine. GL I hope this helped in some way ><
