Get stuck when trying to create a retainer.

Details:
Ever since I experienced a game crash on Feb. 5th, 2011 at around 20:30 EST, I am unable to log in to FINAL FANTASY XIV. Every time I try to log in, I receive "13001 Error occurred during the connection to lobby server." error about 3 minutes after I make an attempt. I have tried resetting my cable modem and router but that didn’t help. I have even tried reinstalling the driver for the NIC but that didn’t help either.

Steps:
1.Changed graphical settings (was running everything maxed out then went to low settings) problem still persists
2. Traveled to different cities to try and create a retainer, and it still happens.
3. Waited long than 20 minutes for the screen for me to choose my retainer and nothing still happens
4. Waited for patch 1.18a for possible problem fix but still the same thing.

This problem have become verrrry annoying now because I am now unable to sell any of my items I farm for which in return means I cant make any money. To sum it all up I cannot buy any weapons/armor to continue to level up my character, and I dont have any money to repair even my low level items I have eq
