As tank I prefer to farm T4 (besides normal activity) - almost instant queue, beatable with every group for 3-5min, you can even spiritbond. As bonus to Light I have: Allagan mats, Gear to desynth/GC, Mount achievement, Recommendations.

It's not supposed to be easy. I have two Nexus relics at the moment and soon (need 25 more melds for my Bravura Axe) will be farming light for a third. Hopefully by then the Ninja Madness will be over.
I use both these sites for information.

If grinding Nexus is obnoxious - don't grind it. Presuming that you're doing things the game expects, like accumulating Tomestones by running Roulettes once per day, you'll build up points as a side effect. Just make sure you do those activities on your Nexus job. DPS queues may be obnoxious, but if you're only running one or two Roulettes per day, that shouldn't get in your way.
You have "free" 2nd coil which always give Blinding light (at least it always did when I tanked t6 and 7 while it was still weekly-locked. t8 i always went DPS so idk but guess it's the same)
You can also farm Shiva EX. A good shiva ex farming party can do it in around 6 minutes, which is about the time you need to kill Ramuh HM and Gilgamesh.

They initially had stated that this progression is supposed to take a long time. They said it before it was released and only the diehard ones that pushed on and grinded the whole day through primals and other methods got their Nexus early. At this time, it's a matter of efficiency versus enjoyment:
Either you focus on one character with their Novus and reach the Nexus goal by doing a combination of ST, Dungeons, Maps and other things that gives Light
Or you just do what you normally do daily and don't worry about getting your Nexus weapon too quickly.
Depending on what they are planning, I have to presume the next level upgrade for the Relics will probably not happen until 2.45 which will probably be in two months. So you still have that much time before you should feel even "slightly" pressured to get your Nexus.
But no, I would definitely say, this isn't a questline for all your classes unless you've got an immense amount of time to dedicate for it. You're better off getting the weapons that will be available by other methods instead. not like you absolutely need the relic for current content anyway; the 110 weapon should let you beat T9 fine until you get the 115 weapon from it, and go do the Final Coil.
It`s a question of just how badly you want the weapon and for what purpose. But in the end: don't let the weapon grind ruin the game experience. I'm not pushing myself crazy on it and just do what I normally do daily on my Paladin and get the lights. I'm at the third stage now since its release and I could care less about how I see a select few with the awesome glow of Nexus.
Frontlines if you don't mind PvP and the queues in your data center for your GC isn't ridiculous.
Kill people on whatever job you want, return/respawn when the match is about to end and change to your novus job to get the light.
Tome rewards are pretty good, too.

I got mine yesterday, Took me about 10-12 days. No PF used only DF(Tank so slight advantage i guess)

This is the worst part of it. Would be nice if I could do most of the *grinding* on any class, and only have to switch to the Nexus class for specific trials or tasks. Makes it much less of a grind. It's very different, for animus you had to do the objectives as the class, but you could farm for myth as any class, back then in 2.2 I'd do all my daily stuff as any class I wanted and only did the book as one class, and I'd only have enough myth for books every few days, but for nexus I have to do every little thing as one class if I want to progress.
What were you running. I have my nexus for my tank already and have been casually doing content for my DRG. I'm not in any rush, but the advancement is painfully slow. Been on the same light window for over two weeks now. It doesn't help that literally every single roulette I do is outside of the bonus. Spending 20-30min in current expert roulette for a brilliant light (6 units) is the suck.
It's disappointing there isn't a daily bonus for this. Animus had daily bonus to myth to help buy the books, Novus had the daily alex map quest and daily bonus myth to help buy more maps. Also it's unfortunate that there's no bonus for helping first timers since the bonus SLD you get is useless for the Nexus.

Once the hype of ninja calms down more people will be doing Nexus more than it was before. All the ninjas are going to need tanks and healers to primal farm more than ever in just a few weeks/months. Patients.
