    Farming ST for lights and upgrade items (sands, oils or unknown allagan tomestone) is possibly the fastest way atm since lots of people are doing it for ninja and alt jobs. Better jump in while it's the current fad. Queue is still longer for dps but it's not bad during prime time and weekends. I suggest daily roulettes and squeeze in as many ST runs as you can while players are farming it right now. It won't last once they get most of the items they want/need. You can also squeeze in some quick low level fates for feeble lights while you are in queue.

    Used party-finder during primetime and after waiting almost an hour only 3 people joined. And even they left after getting tired of waiting.

    People who did Nexus when it just got released had a HUGE advantage over people who are doing it now. There were tons of farming parties they could join whenever they wanted. So yeah, I have no idea how to get my Nexus now. Doing regular dungeons and primals is out of the question, since the waiting times as DPS are ridiculous and you never know where the good light is.

    I was fine with other relic upgrades, since you could do them all by yourself. With Nexus I totally have to rely on others. So, how did you do it? Any suggestions?
    Just go with a partial party next time. As soon as you get a tank or healer, your queue improves.

    In any case, Nexus is probably the easiest step of the relic quest so far. You can just play the game as you normally play it and eventually your relic will upgrade. I did roulette, coil, ST, maps, fates, and Primal/dungeon farming for desynth fodder. It took me a few weeks to get it, but I really didn't go out of my way to do so.

    Those that got it within a few days did a nonstop Cape Westwind grind.

    Hi Billy,

    I'd say hang in there. 2.4 introduced a TON of new stuff for people to do, and IMHO, the DF "emptiness" you feel now will go away with time.

    The majority of players I know have been busy with leveling Rogue / Ninja, working on Shiva Extreme, Final Coil, some lucky ones bought a House and are busy just "gearing up" the house (furniture, styling it out, etc.).

    And then there are those busy with Crafting and Gathering Recipes / Gearing those up.

    It'll straighten itself out in a bit.

    Also, as others have said, for now, while it's not "the best" you can still get Light via:

    * FATEs (every FATE yields light for you) - And there are ton of FATEs being done by all the Rogue / Ninjas leveling.

    * Treasure Maps

    * Try asking a FC/LS/Friend to go Healer and/or Tank for you, and your DF Queues will go much faster.

    * Frontlines: If your Server is big into PvP you can have fun joining those runs for Light.

    * Syrcus Tower: ST runs are still pretty popular (at least on my server).

    I noticed your Avatar lists you as Marauder. If you're going for Axe Nexus as Warrior, your queues should be decent (but get a Healer to join you for the fastest queues).

    Another thing is that lots of Rogue / Ninjas are desperate to get some Dungeon Runs. Even Low Level Dungeons can give Bonus Nexus Light, so that might be worth queuing for as well.

    Ultimately, while getting 2000 Lights for Nexus seems grindy (it is), when put in perspective it's definitely one of the most *flexible* / friendly portions of the Relic Weapon quest:

    * Essentially by doing *whatever you want* / normally do, mostly, you WILL get Nexus Lights and make progress towards the Weapon. It's really nice. :)

    It doesn't force you to wait for a Rare FATE to pop (sitting around for 2 hours), or have to do XYZ; you can just go about doing your Duty Roulettes, or general farming for FATEs, Treasure Maps, PvP, Syrcus Tower, End Game / Coil runs, Primals, even fun Story stuff like Gilgamesh (Battle on Big Bridge), or new content (Shiva, Ultros, etc.), and you WILL continually get Light and make progress.

    Why wasting time, effort and fun? o.O

    I stopped at Zenith when I heared all these people complaining in our server Siren.
    Higher Upgrades of these weapons are just a BIG waste of time and effort. <,<;

    I just stick with those way easyer to get lv110weapons! o-o

    They just need:
    1300 Soldy tomes + 1 Un. Allegan tomestone + 1 Sand of Time.
    ^13 Soldy marks ^Both to get in Sycrus Tower^

    Without the time sand(it Upgrades the weapon) its a lv100 weapon.

    The only issue with Nexus is character lockout, for those of us who like to play different classes.

    You couldn't play other character classes and get credit on Animus books. This is no different. *shrug*

    I basically sucked it up and tanked almost non stop till my Nexus was finished.

    Plenty of time to play my other classes once it's finished.

    It's very different, for animus you had to do the objectives as the class, but you could farm for myth as any class, back then in 2.2 I'd do all my daily stuff as any class I wanted and only did the book as one class, and I'd only have enough myth for books every few days, but for nexus I have to do every little thing as one class if I want to progress.

    I do all roulette's every day. Followed by hunts (To gear my alt), then I keep an eye on PF just in case someone needs help with Alex maps, and then I run a few times ST. I see the message brilliant light, blinding light many times, and sometimes feeble light, only once I saw new born star.

    And it shows after two weeks a distinctive amount of aether activity.

    Yeah, this is something I'm not expecting to finish any time soon.

    I would rather grind atmas, and that took forever for me. Nothing like doing dungeons/primals for weeks on one class only (pretty much ignoring all the other jobs I enjoy playing) then checking the zodiac glass and it still gives the same message. Novus/Animus grind were so much better. At least I could go different jobs on ex dungeons/hunts to get myth.
