What's with some gear and Dyes?

I've got the dye-able Ninja gear but the only problem is while the Chest piece looks fantastic in Jet Black, the Teko (Arms) and Kyahan (Feet) pieces are NOT Jet Black!

Here is what I'm talking about:

Notice how the Chest piece is actually Jet Black with a nice added reflection from the sun and the Arm and Feet pieces are just an off-white colour.

Here's a better comparison between the Chest and Leg gear in Jet Black Dye:

What gives? I was expecting pure black (as the Dye is labeled) on ALL parts of the gear, especially considering it's the centre piece of the feet that is mainly dyed it gets changed into nothing that resembles black!!

Please can you fix this it just looks hideous and doesn't match the rest of the garb! Not to mention I spent quite an amount of Gil to get the materials to craft the Augment Pieces...

Only certain, pre-defined parts of any gear are actually dyable. In this case, the dyable parts of the boots are the cloth around the feet, not the metal. In the case of AF gear, some non dyable parts do change colors, but are different hues.

The chest piece's main dyed part is the front yet that went as normal from Purple to Jet Black, the feet have the same original purple for the front being the main dyed part but fails to actually go Jet Black... I don't see how one bit of gear from the same set would dye into 1 colour but the other a different colour...

This is also true for the Augmented Fighters Burgeonet (Helmet). Although you dye it a colour, it dyes the visor a metallic version of the colour that you have chosen. For example, my one is currently dyed Snow White and it looks more like silver. If you try and dye it Metallic Silver (like my chest piece currently is) it goes a dull dark grey colour. Looks like this is the same sort of thing.
