It's not working as intended then, as the entire party, that is the 3 others were hit with the penalty and couldn't que. That clarification helps. The fix here would be for the devs to change it so that the DF queue is broken as soon as the leader sends the invite rather than when the invitee hits Accept. You can't invite once the Commence window pops so there would be no risk of accidentally giving anyone a strike. The other option would be to disallow party invites PERIOD during queue. Force the party leader to break the queue to invite. Also it shouldn't have mattered that the party leader had 2 strikes already. THe lockout should only have applied if you previously had the 2 strikes. If you're certain you did not have any strikes (keep in mind the reset time), then submit a bug report.
Full pre-made parties don't get penalties right? But for example a party of 7 queued and 1 of 7 had to withdraw (repairs, etc), then ALL 7 of 7 get the penalty?
I like the DF lockout. SE needs to keep it so that the DF works how it should instead of having 10 ques in a row that fail because people leave it on purpose.
you obviously cant read. THE GUY WASNT HIS FRIEND. HE JOINED A PF. HE HAD NO IDEA ANOTHER PERSON WAS INVITED. How was any of that under his control to "hold the others accountable"? And I'll share my own bad experience. I was helping someone with the new dungeons when the patch came out, I had no idea that had any penalties at all before they joined me and we didnt withdraw from any while he was with me. I queued up for a dungeon after I was done with him, withdrew bc another friend needed help, boom... 30 min penalty off of my first withdraw. the system is far from perfect an completely unnecasary to begin with. Some people have lives an things come up leaving them unable to accept the queue. Not everyone was trying to queue/withdraw to just try an get in that run with their friends.
yes all 7 would get the penalty also keep in mind for ST you would also get the penalty even in a full 8 man party. You need a 24 man alliance for ST to avoid the penalty
It may not be perfect, but I completely disagree that it was unnecessary. The amount of fishing for in-progress runs had become almost unbelievable. Some days it would take almost as long to actually get a full party together for Syrcus Tower as it did to run the damn thing. Sure, not every single one of them was a player fishing for in progress, but the vast majority of them were. It's great that there's now some fashion of accountability for this behavior, which is basically just trolling the other players in the queue for that same duty.
And yes, I understand, people have lives but seriously you get three strikes. That means you have two "freebies" where you can withdraw from a duty that's already popped completely without penalty. Consider what repeated withdrawals does to the other 3, 7, or 23 people that happen to be matched up with you in the duty finder. They get to wait for the full 45 seconds while you time out because you're AFK, and then wait again for someone new to be matched to the party. If they're lucky, that person is actually at the keyboard. If not, it's a case of lather rinse repeat until you just want to reach out through the internet and slap someone upside the head for not clicking the button.
If you're that busy that you continually run into the problem of timing out because of being AFK once the party is full, you may want to consider simply removing yourself from the queue whenever you get pulled away and then re-entering when you get back. It may take you longer to get into a dungeon by doing it that way, but it's considerate to the other players waiting and it keeps you from incurring the 30 minute penalty.

Not true. I had 4 withdrawals in less than 2 minutes for an ST queue earlier this week (I was queueing solo and I don't withdraw) and nothing happened. Got in when no one left on the fifth try.
People need to 1) stop whining and 2) get their facts straight if they're going to. The lockout system is a godsend.
happened to me. Just withdrew the DF as i need to change gear but instance is not yet up. When I re-queue im locked out![]()

Same, waiting for a trial to pop then getting the player withdraw notice and having to wait for a further 30 mins is annoying. I feel happy knowing that if they're going to waste my time SE is going to waste theirs.
Everyday is great at your Junes~
