On Friday I attempted to buy the Sleipnir mount from the MogStation only to get the infamous "401" error. Trying a few more times I got the same result so I did some research and resolved to call SE on Monday.
Monday rolls around and I give them a call and they tell me that I have a chargeback on my account. I would -never- chargeback anything anywhere. They say until this is resolved I won't be able to buy anything through the MogStation and that my account will be deleted. Even if I did fix it they said there would be "No guarentees."
I asked them if I could just pay the chargebacked amount ($10) and they said no. That I had to locate the card I had used, talk to the bank and get the chargeback reversed.
After several hours of searching I found the card I had used had belonged to my father and was his business card that he let me use once. The $10 charge had a hold put on it due to Fraud Alert, and my father had cancelled the card while the charge still had a hold on it. Learning that it wasn't a fraudulent charge he had the $10 charge placed on his newly issued card.
SE is insisting that the charge was never paid back despite that it clearly shows on the bank records it was. We offered to fax them a copy of the banking history and they refused.
And that is not even the issue. We would gladly give them $10, but they are insisting they need "authorization" from my father's bank. My father's bank is refusing to give them anything, as it's against their security policy to give authorization over the phone.
So we are stuck at a Catch 22. I would VERY VERY GLADLY give SE the $10 they say I owe, but they won't take it.
After 5 cumulative hours on the phone, getting my father and his business wrapped up in my mess I am near tears. I don't want to lose my account. I have had it for years, I participated in both XIV Alphas and have every possible collector's edition hooked up to it.
I don't know what to do, please help.
