1 Million Gil Trade Cap, Delivery Box Limit

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone else is getting frustrated with only being able to trade a million gil at a time, or the fact that you can only have 20 items at a time in your delivery box?

As an avid crafter and with the release of 2.4, I've frequently had to make trades for more than a million gil where either myself or the person I'm trading with have had to a take a leap of faith by either trading an item for a partial amount of gil (then repeating a bunch of 1 million gil trades) or vice versa. So far I haven't had a problem with anyone stealing anything, but it is rather annoying that something that should be one transaction turns out being 4 or 5.

Also for the mailbox, I'd love to have a backlog of stuff to craft for people but as it stands you can only accept a total of 20 items in your box at a time which is basically 4 letters. People keep complaining that my mailbox is full I could take them all out and throw them in a retainer, but it is much easier to keep track of who sent what when they're stored as letters in my delivery box.

I realize these measures are in place to disrupt RMT, but it seems to me like SE is going a little too far with this to the point that it affects regular players. In my opinion I don't think the pros outweigh the cons, and I hope SE will consider increasing the cap on both.

i agree its pretty dumb. i sold a whole set to a guy the other day for like 20 mil and he didnt mind giving me the money up front but still, someone could really get ripped off like this. im sure SE has a reason and its RMT involved, but i dont see the difference in trading or just throwing a dummy item up on mb for 50 mil and having someone buy it

Yeah other than the tax you would save by trading, it accomplishes the exact same thing.

Unfortunately SE over fear of RMT's is holding allot of things back in this game either way we get a negitive impact to the legit players.

I agree it's dumb and doesn't really stop anything RMT related. The MB tax on high gil items really hurts and it would be easy for someone to run off after the first gil trade on a high priced item. Sure you can report them and possibly get it worked out but terrible way to go about it.

Hmm, measure on subscription accounts to prevent RMT activities...

    1 million gil trade limit
    20 item inbox limit
    No alt character trading
    No shared bank

    Result.... http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...en-world-Bots.

Yea, really seems to working... /sarcasm

This is an imperfect solution until SE manages to fix this issue, but how about buying Allagan Coins off the Market Board to bypass the gil limit? Sure, there's sales tax involved, but would that help?

For 20 million gil, that would amount to approximately 8000 Allagan Gold Pieces, which sell for 2500 each, which would amount to... almost 81 full stacks, by which the item inbox limit is 20 stacks.

Erm... thought this was a good idea until I crunched the numbers. Shutting up now.

Seriously, I can't even imagine being inconvenienced because I have to trade in chunks of millions of gil...

That was another reason these restrictions seem out of place. Since SE seems to be so lackluster at dealing with RMT, why put things in place that affect regular players and barely help to prevent RMT when you refuse to go after people blatantly exploiting for months on end? Seems extremely backwards to me.
