And it's a great song for the fight. It's definitely something I expect they'll clear up in the future, we got answers on Bahamut finally after a bit, Odin is probably the next biggest Primal mystery, at least to me.

Answers on Bahamut

Odin has been confirmed in a recent interview to be the next primal boss released following the Tokyo Fan Fest with an extreme mode trial to also be released. The fact they're releasing an extreme as well suggests he'll be the 2.5 story primal so I would imagine we'll get answers about him soon enough. Louisoix's prophecy for 2.5 makes reference to 'an old despair astride a new shod mare' as well which could potentially be Odin.
My personal theory is that Odin's sword will be the 'blade of light' that we need to contain the aether from the white auracite. What better to hold aether than a sword made of the very stuff. In the cutscene following defeating Odin in the trial he leaves the sword behind as well...![]()

I wonder if Ultima and Omega weapons were powerful Meracydian dragons at one point and converted into what they became? Physiology wise Ultima looks like a dragon. Ultima has the hear of Sabik. Sabik is a star withing the ophiucus (snake....zodiark) system. It means "one who comes 1st" now with Omega (meaning last)weapon confirmed I think once activated and fire a spell that will be the impetus for Zodiark to finally be released. Makes me wonder of dragons are related to Zodiark in some way
The lyrics for Answers certainly seem to be about the dragons plight. Then there's Akh Afa amphitheater and it kinda gives a new meaning to the Dragonsong war.

I don't think Omega will look like Ultima Weapon. I'm pretty sure Omega is going to be based on the one from FFV. (It is only ever refered to as "Omega", not "Omega Weapon") I actually think we can see a part of it in-game already: the node that appears during Frontlines looks like it could be a part of Omega.I wonder if Ultima and Omega weapons were powerful Meracydian dragons at one point and converted into what they became? Yeah, that makes sense to me as well. I'm pretty excited for that, Odin is the last Primal currently out that hasn't been dealt with as well, so I'm glad that won't be left hanging. It's nice to see the Primals actually having some sort of role in the story as well, beyond just being big threats that need to be handled.
Well, that certainly puts a damper on my "Alexander vs Bahamut" theory. It's still possible that Alexander is the Allag Primal rather than the Ishgard one, which means that such a battle may have taken place in the past, but we're unlikely to see Alexander until the expansion now. (calling it now: the floating continent is Alexander)
Another thing: perhaps all the Primals were once mortal? Iceheart may well have literally become Shiva without anyone realizing, and even if not Bahamut himself was described as having been brought back from the dead as a Primal. And then there's Odin, always taking the form of the one who killed him last. Perhaps there's something to that?

But, Alexander is summoned by the Goblin tribe, apparently...

Actually they said Alexander is a fortress. He is essentially a giant mechanical fortress that we enter and fight through, presumably to get to the crystal at his core and destroy him (assuming he's actually malevolent, I'm not sure if he will be as the Goblins have thus far been our allies and Alexander is almost always a good/holy summon). It sounds very similar to the Alexander of FFXI though, who was actually a spirit possessing an entire ruin complex. Actually with that in mind I'm wondering if Alexander's physical form was in fact built by the Goblins and they then summoned him into it, much like Iceheart/Shiva.
T13 spoilers:
I'm willing to bet we'll be fighting Alexander Prime at the end too simply because, much like Bahamut, he's too big for us to kill directly. The sudden reveal that Bahamut has a 'prime' avatar needs some serious explaining. Most of all I want to know if killing Bahamut Prime actually destroyed him permanently... Hopefully Alexander can shed some light on that.
