i70 Artisan Tools - Which way to meld (CP vs. Crft)

I currently have my BSM Max melded with all of the new artisan gear except the offhand has no melds yet.
I'm currently sitting at 430 craft 407 Control which is just 21 Craftmanship shy of the 4star cap if I'm not mistaken.

My issues is I've come to appreciate max cp builds and have many rotations that utilize every point of that 398 cp as well only eat bouillabaisse. With the addition of shark fin soup, it allows some room for cheaper melds with a new reliant on 50k food (megalodon shark) to meet the craft cap but your cp would suffer greatly.

What would be the best way/optimum melds in order to reach 4 star cap but keep the +3cp as well as be able to eat cp food and have no reliance on FC buffs? Since the offhands are so expensive I really don't want to make a mistake in the melds and regret it later.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

keep in mind there are some pieces like legs i think? that u can meld 1 craftsmanship on.

honestly what i did was a control IV and the rest craft III on the offhand. one of the offhands i had to do control IV craft IV 3 craft IIIs, which it looks like you will have to do. i hit the caps and end up with 394 cp with hq bouli and my rotation works out perfectly. not max melded per se, but pretty close

tldr: hit the caps for craft/control so you can use cp food

I just did some more calculations and it seems my chest isn't max melded so Im going to redo that tonight. After crunching some numbers my offhand will look like:

    Control IV > Craft 3 > Craft 3 > Craft 3 > CP 3.

This will put me at 451/413/398 enough to reach cap and keep my max CP build!

So the cap for Craftsmanship is 451? What about Control though? Do we know the cap for that?

imo as long as you're reaching the minimum Craftsmanship required to perform any 4-star synth, you should probably focus the rest into Control since that ups your chance for HQ, not really necessary to "cap it". Think about how many things in this game require you to just get to the end versus how many require an HQ result.

    Thoughts?

    Craftsmanship Required: 451
    Control Required: 407

Those are the bare minimums to attempt.

    Oh okay, thanks!

Odd that it's being referred to as a "cap" when it's actually the bare minimums though. Seems like (if Ariyala is correct) the cap without FC buffs or Craftsmanship food would be 461.

    Oh well lol

Depending on what you're doing for your progress synths, you don't need that much. I personally run a 453 craft rotation so my offhand has +17 craft and +3 CP.

The only thing that worries me about only hitting the bare minimum required is, what if there are new recipes that require more Craft / Control and we're now short because we didn't invest in higher level melds? (Obviously before 3.0's big Level Cap update - UGH (we'll have to redo ALL of our Crafting Gear Again, for sure.))

Why 16 and not 15? I couldn't see any incremental benefit to one extra.
