    Firstly, I agree about the arbitrary statements point. That goes both ways, as I posted in response to another person. Saying it's the game vs. it's the ISP is not correct in any way, shape or form.

    Secondly, I'm not an internet expert, but I know the basics of how to discover where an issue is occurring. In 90% of the cases I've read on this forum, it's the fault of CDN's such as Level3. It's really not that difficult to figure out. tracert, ping to SE's ISP, and bam, you have some answers. Do this several times at different times of day and provide your results to those at fault. The Verizon issue in particular, affects more than a few people. That's a big company.

    Thirdly, adding datacenters is already happening, and it is insanely expensive. The game being a year old and having the revenue to do such a thing is astounding.

    Well, my game is fine. I will get lag every once in a while, but it is most definitely on Comcast.

    Well, Verizon has admitted, while placing the blame squarely on L3 (but it was L3 that discovered this), to intentionally bottle-necking their customers at the L3 line in order to force L3 to cave into their extortion fee (much like what they did to Netflix).

    And I wouldn't put it past any major ISP (such as Comcast and AT&T) to do the same thing (Comcast has already done it and I'm willing to bet my breakfast burrito is STILL doing it). But, hey! It's perfectly legal to do in the US because we wouldn't want to restrict companies from being able to make profit in any way (even if regulations are to prevent business douchbaggery). Hell, the congressmen whom are bought off by the major communications companies are trying to pass laws that give these companies legal grounds to essentially put in a "slow lane".

    But I'm digressing and that's an argument for an entirely different thread.

    You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who would disagree with you haha. It is relevant to this discussion, because those specific facts are affecting our connection. It grows worse during patch times because they are being flooded by users.

    Also, as far as Verizon is concerned, my connection isn't passing through level3 at all, but Alter.net, but I was experiencing the same issues (haven't really been on during peak hours recently).

    FTC is taking legal action against AT&T for selling unlimited data plans then throttling the shit out of their customers. I'd hope it would send a message to NA ISP's but almighty greed will always win out. I used to have AT&T and it was god awful at some points, I couldn't go into T7 for over a month without getting at least 1 90k, I switched providers not too long before this happened and now I can happily play without half the issues I used to have.
