No. One Would have a smooth gaming experience - Not. A. Single. Person. So if most of your players are in-game, playing and not even complaining about the lag...that kind of throws SE and the servers/datacenter out of the equation as being the biggest factor.

We already know the issues lies inbetween you (player) and the datacenter. Aka, Level3.net being one of the biggest issues that affects not just XIV, but numerous other MMOs and even non gaming services.
Fair enough... I've never had issues... well I got errors when the game first launched, but they did fix those. I just think dismissing the issue as "the internet" is a bit cavalier. I have certainly seen issues in other games that hit some groups hard be addressed when the company took steps to improve things by adding datacenters, moving things, etc. This was after internet "PhDs" diagnosed the problem as an "internet issue" and of course tried to explain the game company was completely blameless.

I guess I am a skeptic of such internet "experts". Also, the claim that no one would have a smooth gaming experience if it was on their side is un-provable conjecture. There have been plenty of cases where game companies resolved issues on their side that affected SOME players. Arbitrary blanket statements like this are what make me question validity of comments and motives.
