So is it just me or has this lag been going on for far too long? Not the usual "Fook! Bene didn't go off, stupid animation!" but the lag where everything stops, or is jumping around rapidly. I've been trying to ignore it and hoping it goes away for the past 7 or 8 weeks, but I've talked to several people, and several raid leaders, who report their raids are experiencing the same problems. I've made sure its not a problem on my end. Has SE even acknowledged this problem yet?

I've played this game since beta and of course there have been periods of lag, but this feels like the longest running streak. I WANT to like this game, and I try very hard to look on the bright side of things but if every time or every other time I enter a raid with my static someone lags, what the hell do you do other than replace people and not accept new members based on where they live or what ISP they have?

A couple of members of my FC and I were all getting terrible lag in ST today despite two of us using VPNs. One of us even 90ked out two or three times.

Whatever it is, it's definitely server-side.

I definitely had that experience on and off.

Had it recently happen to me for a few hours to the point I thought my PS3 was causing the lagging issue by somehow overheating due to a fan messup...

Paste a pathping and tracert and tell us your rough location, ISP and what realm you connect to. "It's not my fault" doesn't help anyone.

I get 90k a lot. No lag or warning just BOOM random 90k error. Very frustrating. To me it almost seems like their servers require a constant solid connection and have no wiggle room for if your connection dips even slightly (you'd want a timeout opposed to instant disconnection).

Either that or my ISP has crappy routing, but I'm in central London so it can't be too bad.

FC mate of mine keeps getting random lag for the last 2 weeks and I had it a few times as well... everything just freezes for 2-5o then it's fine again.

Has happened to me alot too, esp since the 2.4 release. Had to run sv hm 3 times yesterday to get the win finally since the first two 9k and took forever to load back in and group didnt wait ( not that i blame them). Luckily the last group the tank had lag issues as well so we all waited for each other But ya makes it unplayable at time almost afraid to run anything due to lag.

This has been an ongoing problem for this game and is really pretty ridiculous for a game nowadays.

I am so glad we listened to those people that said "But the game is new! WoW had these issues at launch!"

Don't even "well this is the only game blahblahblah", you know for a fact that doesn't matter. It's the U.S. and its shitty infrastructure, with CDN's and ISP's throttling data or just generally being garbage because why not, people don't understand anyway. So yes, our internet is junk. Difference is, some of us actually try to do something about it. Others just post bullshit.

Call your provider. Call SE. Post in Tech Support, not in General Discussion. But just going "Well I knew. You guys, I knew it was bad from the beginning. They clearly don't care about this." is incredibly inane and unhelpful. Be a part of the solution, don't add to the problem. Post hard facts and data and move on.

Fine, blame the American internetz. I guess they should just say on the box "Internet connection required- American internet isn't so great though...sorry America - everything else is fine, but this game doesn't work well with your internet- guess you should pass some internet regulatory laws so that FFXIV works better."
