I guess the big question is, when the level cap is raised, will we have new class quests - leading to new mainhands (perhaps better than I75 Supra's)?
Also will there be lvl 60 recipes for Weaver and Leatherworker to let them make new "class sets" - a new set of lvl 60 1 star recipes?

From a developer's perspective, someone who picks up the game after the expansion, will likely not "want" to go through all of the grinding required to obtain the current crafting gear.
Unless they either nerf the requirements (amount of items to turn in and mats requires), or the lvl 60 crafting gear enables people to simply skip the 50x token grinds, for instance.

The gear reset is a big question for me too. I didn't play the previous FF MMO so I am not sure how they handle new levels, but most other games I play it's a total reset each new tier. I am deciding on pushing forward with crafting or just leveling all doh to 50 and then leveling all the dow as high as I can before the new tier. I am currently leaning toward the later.

Going off of FFXI the cap started at 50 (75 by the time it got released in the US) and you had to do a quest every 5 levels to unlock the next levels but you only had to do this once per char.

Like I said I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you need at least some melds to do the quest (or lots of gil to just buy the items) to advance past 50 in the class. I don't think it will require you to have absolutely everything but I wouldn't be surprised if you need the i55 gear melded.
