    Been wondering about this myself.
    I havent been keeping up with the new crafting gear over the last few updates, got my artisan spectacles, and artisan cul and armorer mainhands, the rest is standard "old" gear.
    So I am quite far behind in terms of getting and perfectly melding the new accessories, getting the NEWER mainhands, new crafting armors, etc, etc...
    Given how far "behind" I am at this time, I must ask, aside from crafting being a way to get cash to throw more cash into crafting... is there anything particularly useful to be gained through crafting now?

    Ive got about 1 mil, mostly do Coils and dungeons, have 109-110 on 3 difference classes, and my raid group really isnt hardcore enough to dish out for HQ 4 star armor with 5x grade 4 melds... too poor.
    So it seems like the only things worth making, aside from armors, in a raid setting is the new foods. Is it worth going from where I am, to getting the new HQ armors, melded, and ready to do 4 stars for just food?
    Or should I just wait for the expansion to "reset" gear progression?

    As someone who is just now getting crafts up to 3 star level. My thinking is that the new lvl 60 gear will probably be a "5*" synth and you will need the stats to do 4* + 10 levels so being able to do 4* before the patch would put you ahead and able to recoup some money down the line.

    That said I make most of my money making and selling 2 star foods/potions so if you just want gil then you can make plenty at your current levels.
