You are assuming people who play DPS don't play tanks or healers, with the current system you are extremely limited on how many classes you can play/gear up, which is ironic when the armory system is one of the main attractions of this game.

Please point exactly where I'm assuming that, in post #19 I acknowledged the lack of freedom to gear different classes by playing just one class as a downside, and not a minor downside, a major downside.

Under OP's suggestion, the reverse is equally as true. The inability to gear up other classes without having to play that class/role is a downside. In simplest terms, if I go on Warrior to beat queues, I can't use those tomes I get to gear up my Ninja. That, to me and likely many others, is a waste of time. Faster queues? Quite the opposite since people who want to gear up their DPS mains and have no interest in gearing up alts, let alone hitting cap, will simply not do so. So the tanks and healers pool drops.

That's exactly what I said in post 19, the lack of freedom is a major downside, I'm not blindly supporting OP's idea, I can see the downsides.
