Roegadyn Female Glamor Help

Hi all!

Just a question regarding the options for (I'm gonna call it) transmog for Roe fems. I'm only low level atm but all the armour for gladiators makes me look the size of a hippo I'm not after totally skimpy armour, but is there any end-game/glamor option armour that is a little less bulky? Kinda with the same substance as the the starter clothing seen here:



I've seen plenty for the other races but not so much for this one.

Also, I'm looking for a helm that covers the mouth but not the eyes (not like a rogue mask), much like this one or similar. Is there anything close to resembling this helm maybe?

I believe some of the new poetic tome helms have that look to them. I would recommend that if you want to look at what all most of the gear looks like on your character, you should browse the Market Board and use the Try On feature to preview it.

For a headpiece that covers the mouth but not the eyes, you can take a look at the Mythril Mesail.

The Volkswagen armor (its boxy but its good) is very silly looking. Once you hit 50 and get the ability to glamour there are a ton of options. Tanks can equip almost any gear in the game (except for job specific gear) and so have the most glamour options.

I second the idea to go through the market board using "try on" to see what you like.

I would recommend that if you want to look at what all most of the gear looks like on your character, you should browse the Market Board and use the Try On feature to preview it.

This is good advice. Preview the looks of lots of gear and you'll eventually find some you like.

And keep in mind, nearly all gear can be used as glamour. While leveling, you'll likely be alternating between nice looking and ugly pieces on the stuff you get good stats from. Whenever you come across pieces you like the look of, keep a hold of those to use later. As soon as I hit 50 and unlocked glamour, I made most of my gear look like the stuff I'd been wearing at 25, because it was one of the sets I liked the look of.

If you stick with GLD/PLD as your main, you may also want to look at the general DoW sets for glamour options. Stat-wise, they're intended for DPS classes, but if you like the more form-fitting leather-clad look better than being fully encased in plate armour, a lot of the regular mid-level DoW gear may fit the look you want.

Tortoiseshell Scale mail is a very good one if you dye it soot black. It resembles an armored bodysuit and emphasizes the Roe's hourglass figure. I have a large number of female Roe in my FC and that piece works really well with the Divine War set for them. Try it out on the marketboards if you can't from the craft menu.

If you want something lower level, most of the scale mail pieces emphasize the figure on females more than the heavy armor and cuirasses (they're gld/mrd/lnc equipment). Tank armor itself tends to be unisex, which makes sense from a realism standpoint. Unfortunately, it's not something all players want all the time.

Otherwise, DoW leather armor, such as the Infantry armor set, make good glamours too. The Mythril mesail is probably your best choice for a headpiece resembling that and can be equipped by any class.

I suppose xivmodels.com is a good site to see how armor looks (easily accessed by clicking he xivmodel link for the items on the xivdb site I gave you), but it doesn't beat using the game's own engine. Sadly, anything except Hyur are an underserved population and other races' armor peices aren't always available in their entirety on the site. You can still get a good 'ballpark' idea of what might fit from female hyur models though and narrow it down from there.
