Trying to use cell hotspot ...

So since coming back and updating to 2.4, I've enjoyed the content and have no issue gameplay wise, but now I can't seem to use my cell hotspot to load launcher without getting "a system error has occurred: -2146697208"... Back when REX was released, I forget the exact update, I was able to, now I can't. But if I load the launcher via my home wifi log in and then before clicking start I switch over to my cell hotspot I can then click start and play all day. Before I continue yes I have unlimited data so I don't care, and I see no point in paying a internet bill if I can use my cell. So back to my issue, google does not grace me with answers and I don't see it being an issue other the maybe a change in server from REX update to now. If anyone has any insight please grace me with your knowledge. Thanks. Sorry if this isn't in proper forum section please move if need be.

I think your problem is your cell operator who doesn't allow modem-like use of your cell phone.

This isn't an issue with his carrier...since all he has to do is open the launcher on wifi then switch to his cellular and it works fine. Almost seems like the cell phone is blocking a port the launcher needs.

He maybe capped something in his "unlimited" data plan. You know, nothing is really unlimited and some caps are in term of use, specially when it comes to cellular data plans. But, anyway, the best place for him to ask help is his own carrier support forum, or call them directly.

As for a possible "cap" why would I be able to swap once I'm past launcher if I was "capped"..? As for port, I'd be leaning towards this if it wasn't for me being able to swap at "start" menu. Which let me identify it's just after I type in my log in info and the "log in" changes to "play" that's when I swap. Just baffles me.

I think only Sprint has a truly unlimited data plan; Verizon, T-Mobile, even AT&T may claim that they do when in actuality they don't. Their definition of "unlimited" is "unlimited without the amount of data your plan allows". So it could be throttling, could be a port denial.

There was one time that I had to use my cell phone's hot spot to be able to go online (I had accidentally "turned off" that function of the router, which also affected the two iphones being able to go online). Verizon called to inform that they noticed an increased data-usage.

I would try checking to see if the phone is denying the port the game uses, even if manually doing so. If that fails, I would consider that, maybe, your provider is doing some throttling.

Possible on throttling, possible on port as well. As I have sprint, I will have to tinker some more using a iphone5s doesn't leave room for many options especially JB. Thanks all for input

this just simply not true, Verizon went back on its stance to throttle unlimited users who use more than 4gb, so they are still truly UNLIMITED for those who still have the grandfathered plan.

iirc i saw that there is a new 8.1 ios jb, being an android user im kind of out of the loop on those things, but i follow hackintosh, so i remember him posting today something about it!
