People always could have the 99% block rate of scutums at all times. Sure, it cost a bunch of stamina, but it was still worth it for a tank. There was and is no choice, you'll want to block as much damage as possible regardless of duration.
Gotta love all this negative thinking. Tho, maybe they will XI blocking. They're XI'ing every damn thing else. Why complain, it would have come with or without player intervention.
O wait, player intervention lead to the XI'ing of the game in the first place >.>
Did you know they are planning to eliminate the AC system too? Probably because its not in XI >.> next TP generation will slow WAAAAY down. All weaponskills will take all all TP you have, and we will have to kneel to recover hp and mp...
Heavens knows they want us all to compete over field mob positions for mindless grind fests now, just like XI. I've already known they were going to XI this game a long time ago. I've only recently stopped carrying. You'll see it, one update at a time.
Anyways, we just have to see what they do with blocking. Blocking as it is, you raise your shield with a kite shield or scutum, you'll block just about every attack. Not that it reduces much damage, but its far better than random parrying. Along with their automation of shield block, parrying needs to be changed too. Shield block is the actual % block rate of the shield, but 150 parry certainly cant be the parry rate. They will most likely slightly lower the block rate, even tho it would be pointless since a good gladiator had guard up all the time anyways, but parry needs to be the same.
