Any plans for auto-blocking?

Shield actually is always up. All defensive shield skills trigger guard when you use them so you don't really need to constantly use guard. I wouldn't mind it being removed if it wasn't going to f'up with both SEN and GLA mechanics. Because the base of SEN id the wield rate x block rate...if you remove the wield rate, the block rate will also be nerfed, which leaves the possibility of all the shield mechanic breaking apart.

But its bvious this will happen...the copycat team will turn self-preservation into shield mastery and then just bring all the shield mechanic from FFXI...and we will lose the 2 points that actually define SEN (block rate and wield rate) here because shield will become, just like in FFXI, an extra defense gear only.

Got nothing to do with QQ. If you play Gladiator you know it's annoying putting up Shield just after 5 seconds it go back to normal stance again then you put it up again. There also right now bug, where you press multiple time or sometime it doesn't look like you're in defensive mode but it say you are already blocking.

We are not asking for automatic block all attack here, just like someone suggest make it a stand mode where you stay in that position for a short duration of time, not like couple second it go down again. Anything is better then spamming shield guard every 3 - 5 seconds repeatedly. Look like Gladiator is really fun to play now. I feel like that all I do, spam shield guard.

I have just one thing to say. Learn how to use your shield .. Try your shield defensive action and stop using scutum ..

The only thing that need a fix is shield animation and a grayed icon when the shield is up.

Very true. Having guard icon reflecting as recast the guard up timer would be moore than welcome...would be much better for a guard perception than just looking to the animation.
