Well its because Yoshida said in the famitsu interview that he wants gladiator to be pure tank... meaning the empty offhand thing isn't going to happen either.
signed i would also like to see this but i would however like to see an action for advanced blocking that way if square invisioned a boss fight where the glad was more successful at guarding or deflecting a special move of a boss by tossing up his shield (similar to the way it really helps against nanny charges) then we would still have the feeling of actively doing the blocking for those situations.
So they want to eliminate the guard feature and put in an auto-block... lame. I liked putting up guard myself. Just another reason to not to play my alternate character now.
no bad idea for me. i think is not bad the idea to raise your shield. but, is annoying for really, gladiator have a lot of abilitys to use to gain enmity and whit the fact you have to raise your shield every 10-15-20 secs dont let the gladis any window to autoaatack and gain tp. my almost only tp resource is for bloking whit outmaneaver. i encourage you to increse the second the shield is rise. or make it autoblock is not a bad idea too.
btw, the ability Ambidextery is wirhtless whit a scutum shield.
Rise III, Can i have it?
Thank god; my shield is useless on both my mage classes because I don't have space on my bar for the crummy guard skill that I'd use one in a blue moon.
Please just make auto, u can reduce moving speed or something if needed
<YES PLEASE> so tired of constantly pressing shield block, sometime press it and nothing happen and it say "Shield is already up." Kind of annoying. The basic thing of a shield is that it auto block when needed, not having to press it constantly. We have Auto Attack now to get rid of this annoying, why not go further?
