    Definitely need auto-blocking, if it's not in by at least 1.19/1.20 I'd be worried. I could only imagine right now the issue is that there'd have to be a blocking algorithm, then animation, etc.

    For the time being, a shield toggle wouldn't hurt... would it? Or maybe it could be raised automatically when you go into combat.

    I can live with auto-block provided i have to be engaged to block, there were too many instances in ffxi where a paladin was made to voke and take the hits unengaged to save tping the enemy mob. Seemed to me one of the most boring roles you could be made to do.

    They probably should remove TP generation from hits taken and possibly compensate by giving mobs permanent Invigorate, or something.

    Honestly I don't want it. If they give some kind of buff for not blocking, like higher attack and more tp generation and while blocking a higher defense lower attack and access to block abilities then I'd keep it the way it is.

    Also have the little icon above the character.

    Honestly, in my opinion I don't think the problem lies with auto-blocking, it lies with the raised block not lasting long enough. Even with self-preservation, using a scutum, I have to hit block every 15seconds. That's a little too often, I think. I would like to see an increase in the wield rates of all shields. Perhaps something along the lines of 30sec for a scutum and it increasing all the way up to say 45sec to 1min for the smaller shields, self-preservation obviously augmenting those numbers as needed.

    The benefit of this is for smaller, faster fights we would essentially still have a kind of "auto-block" as we wouldn't be hitting it every 15/20sec and would be able to focus on other abilities. However during large-scale NMs, instances and other 'boss fights' we'd still have to be vigilant about watching and maintaining our block without having it become a nuisance.

    Also, as stated above, the inclusion of a "Shield raised" icon should be mandatory.

    When you guys say "auto-block," are you suggesting that you block attacks randomly like most games, or just have guard active indefinitely while you have a shield equipped? I vote for the second option.

    YES PLEASE!

    Rising the shield every 15s is nothing but a nuisance.
    And i would love to see the defence of the shield being added to my def stat. They could even lower the overall defence of the shield, i just want a permanent def increase when i equip a shield which is "auto-up".

    I don't think you actually get tp for being hit, unless you have um... what's it called... Outmaneuver?

    Or were you talking about mobs?

    Honestly I don't even think mobs have auto attack right now...

    When I fight dodos, after a certain point the dodo will just stand there for about 30 seconds belching.

    I actually double checked this right before posting to be sure and I did indeed gain some TP from being hit.
