Is this where we're at 11 months later?

I know a lot of this has probably already been resolved, debated, and conjured up in the forums, but I just wanted to add some things to this message that I hope developers will one day fix for my enjoyment to be peaked while playing this game. That going, here are some things I think "they" should work on once all of the content is filled out. (And by content, I do mean "add more" developers. lol)

Fix the map so that I can zoom in and out of the map (to the world map) using the scroll button on the mouse.

Change the widgets so that I can click on them to open up menus (instead of only being able to drag and drop them wherever I can on the interface..)

Change the "!" icon at the top of the screen to automatically open up the menu it delivers instead of opening up the side-bar and having to click on the thing twice.

When clicking on a person, allow us to activate messages such as "Tell", "Add to friends list" and check right there on the screen (instead of using the side-bar too much)

Allow more standby emotes and poses for characters to appear more interactive (instead of the brainless stare they give when standing still for too long)

    Add a jump feature, please!

Add animation to the changing stances (passive to aggressive) while running (instead of the "floating" animation they give when equiping weapons)

Add a swimming ability. The invisible walls are too much, and we'd like to jump and swim places if at all possible.

If there's a spot on the field that we can "see" allow us to "go there."

Allow us to change the volume of certain sounds in the game (the foot-step noise being the more prominent one) so that we can lower and adjust volumes in the game.)

Add a customization menu in-game (instead of the config outside of the game) so that we can adjust settings (or add pictures to the config menu so we can see what the game "might" look like when we turn it back on.) This reduces frequent restarting and re-adjusting in the config menu outside of the game.

    Create more fluid animations.

If a mob is "attacking" us don't make the character stand there and take it. Allow them to auto-battle if necessary so we don't have to scroll to the mob, enter twice, and then choose to attack it. Make the characters seem capable of defending themselves when necessary.

Allow more battle options for the Disciple of Hand and Disciple of the Land class. The auto-tutorial at the beginning of the game is pointless for those starting out in those two classes as battling is not their main focus, and the intro to the battle seems tiring and unineteresting to those players. This turns off new players automatically. "Stone throw" is not enough to warrant that an ability (especially at 1 damage per turn) That is pointless and tedious, not to mention lazy on the developers part...

Obviously, we need dungeons and places for higher ranked classes to spend adventuring for more enjoyment. Adding to this, characters in the markets, cities, and outside the territories seem stagnant and boring (as if they have no life-purpose at all) except talking to player. Have them cut wood, ponder in amusement at a sell at a stand, walk around, or talk to other NPC's (preferably with voice commands) so that the world and economy feel "flowing" and "alive." (If anything, look at "The Elder Scrolls" series to see how they handle NPCs.)

If at all possible, can we have voice-overs for most (if not all) of the cutscenes. Thanks!

Our characters seem pointless and "wall-flowerish" in the background of important cut-scenes. Give us a chance to reply to conversations, "butt-in", or add some sort of dialogue with NPC's in cut-scenes. (I also thought having a group conversation would be awesome in cut-scenes for players who are doing the same quest, and/or on a team together) I would like to see my team who I am doing a quest with in the same cut-scene if at all possible.

Allow our characters to run just a little bit faster please. Traversing the same territory over and over becomes tiring (not to mention the same bland of textures that scopes over an entire city-scape or landmark.)

The "cards" or "leves" seem pointless when activating them as they tell no one what quest you are doing. All of the quests seem to have the same card graphic anyway, so when activating a quest, allow other players to see what quest we are activating by printing the name of the quest on the card as it activates, or informing others of the same happening. Allowing players to join in leves that other players have already activated would be a nice welcoming to those are solo but in need of a levequest help!

If we cut down a tree can that tree fall over (and respawn several seconds or minutes later for other players to harvest from)? This can go for mining areas, harvestable grass, and fish in water!

Is there an option to have the camera auto-follow where the player is looking? (So we don't have to use the right mouse button to track the camera to where the player is looking)

Can we have campfires, tents, Inns, or houses of our own where we can rest, log off, and get a "Well rest" mark on our player that improves experience point gains and possibly effectiveness in battle and harvesting?

Obviously, add more mobs for players to take down, more dungeons, and possible some new field tracks. The ones used are tirelessly over-used and annoying at times. Are there options to use custom music at times?

People have their own request, and I'm sure we've heard ALL of them before. These are my request. You each have your own!

Thanks, and leave a comment below!

    ~Ian

The thing is...FFXIV is dead. Dev team isn't "fixing" it...they're somehow remaking it...they're using some of the old content because without them they would need to have servers down, which is not an option since FFXIV already was released and the ToS forces them to keep servers up.

They had 2 options: Keep a server for the old FFXIV and rework the new FFXIV offline and replacing the game all in one patch or keep the current FFXIV servers going and replace the old content in parts so they not only keep the game going but also can receive feedback from playerbase regarding every change.

I do think the way they picked is the correct one...the more they hear players feedback the more acceptance the game will have...and, for a game that already born drowning in a burst of hatred, acceptance does is a point just as important as any other regarding this game...because if they repeat the approach Tanaka team did during beta (not hearing the playerbase until it was already too late) no matter how good the game was...the rejection from playerbase would have it fated to fail.

My only point regarding all these changes is that they should keep some of the original content for those who liked the original game. Merging the old FFXIV with the new FFXIV would have a much better long-term result than just replacing everything.

I agree with you 100%. I do think it's silly to just re-invent everything (although, it does sound like that's what they are doing) however, I had no idea that they were re-inventing FFXIV to a brand new game (instead of the one released). I think it does make sense, otherwise, this would be the worst Final Fantasy game released by Square Enix, and I doubt they want to release a game, cancel it, and have it be just another "numbered" game in the series with no potential. I'm sure they learned a lot from this experience. It does seem odd that it has taken them (no offense) a quick kick to the balls to get them to listen, and eventually fix everything, yet, I wonder what road the "new" game will take, and if player's concerns will finally be addressed (like they picked up and did with XIII-2).

    Thanks to all in advance.

"Terms of Service", or Star Trek "The Original Series", if you're a trekkie.

Sad, was expecting FF14 to be evolve from FF11, but instead it's a totally different game....bought the $75 pack and played it for 5 day and quit......and just a few day ago, my neph bought it and ask me to play with him...thus I'm giving it another try since they updating it...
But still, no Auction house, missing so much stuff, control function sux.....
I do hope they merge FF11 content to FF14, merging server to created 1 huge community rather than a bunch of small one.

Auction House, and Functionality, Menu,etc....like the mouse can only be use to shift screen and zoom, where in FF11 it can be use to open menu, shift screen, walk,run,zoom......this may be little thing, but this little thing is being use every second, thus should really be improve.
