I promised in the other thread I would post some positive things about fan fest.
1. Spoilers was nice to see the announcments about EU servers being planned (if in UK pm me I could help you build the data centre :P )
2. Red shirt staff. The most helpfull people were the red shirters which I was later told are true SE workers. The nice lass on the RH credit card machine was very appologetic about the wait and really happy to see so many people enjoying the event dispite the quing and showed a positivce face to SE in my opinion (hey most of us were british its our past time or those telling me LOL dragoon used to quing!) Overall the red shirt staff and most blue shirt crew were very approachable and made the event day fun. Must say Gilgamesh fight was the most fun and the female crew member was very enthusiastic about it (though i must practice the manderville so i can nail it better next time!)
3. Nice surprise of the day was while in the merch que Yoshi-P decided to make an appearence for all of us stood in line for a long time and posed for photos with us or have something signed. I went for photograph as thats a better memory, he was very down to earth and certainly gives a positive impression to anyone who met him.
4. Food and especially the drinks were not rip off prices which some events normally always get a negative on prices (Last gig I went to water bottles were £2.50, here £1 and very welcome)
It was well worth going even though I left home at 6:15am and got home at 2:30am the following morning. I met many people who played on my server and have made a couple of new friends. Some people I appologise if I forget names, were very friendly and enthusiastic, one guy flew over from Austria that I spoke to in the merch line and did a few battles with, the costumes people spent time making were very good and shows alot of the tallent out there and was one reason why I asked about the design competitions for items of clothing / weapons etc. being more frequent as it keeps the community aspect that I know has been a core principle of the relaunch.
Despite the gripes it was a good event. Whens the next?
