About the queues

Hi guys, I just returned to Eorzea since this patch, and the first thing I noticed is everyone is playing rogues/ninjas, so the queues times are insanes if you play dps. I remember when I played just thing of 2 months, I had to wait 10 minutes for daily roulette and maybe 30 minutes for story primals (not a big problem because I just search more than 1 primal and dungeons. But now the queue times are more than 30 minutes for everything. The thing is: Do you think this is something of a few days or will it convert the game into another WoW with insane queues? Because i'm level 48 with my mnk and I want to rise 50, but I guess it will be useless if I will have to wait 2 hours to play everything.

Definitely ninja is the reason for this, as it was ~5 minute queues for melee dps the day before patch (10-15 for ranged in my experience) and it bumped up to 1h+ since patch. I know what I'm talking about, maining monk and now leveling ninja too... xD

If you're already lvl48 you don't have a real problem though, just queue for both Dzemael Darkhold and Aurum Vale and while in queue go fate in one of the beast tribe areas. If you don't have an invite after 2 hours, you will have dinged 50 just from doing fates, maybe less if you're a bit furhter into lvl48. Basically no matter if your queue is successful or not, you will be 50 in 2 hours anyway... ^^

longer queues is why you use a tank or healer as your off-class... that way easy in regardless.

of course doesn't help when your trying to level a class, which is what I will be doing with mnk and nin as there the only classes I havnt done yet.

another option is use pf to get a group and run a few times with them.. or do the ever popular dd first room clears.

OP, I was lvl 42MNK when ROG/NIN was realeased. I was enjoying 5-10 minute Q time. Day the patch went live...30+ mins. I think I have been in a total of 2 low level roulettes since the release, guildhest roulettes have been ok, but are barely worth much. Only time I have been able to run dungeons is if one of my friends decides he wants to lvl his tank lol.

So the answer has become FATES....again. I disliked them before coz you really don't get the immersion into the skill of your job like you do in a dungeon. I dislike them even more now due to the mass NINZERG that is going on, but it's all we have. I just hit 45 yesterday after about an hour of FATEs from 43. IT's going to be a long road ; ;

Well, I guess I will consider your advice and farm FATES until the ninja fever calm down a bit. This topic really pisses me of because I hate the queues of WoW, and this game was great just for all the content you could play without being flamed/ignorated. Thanks for the tips guys.

Another thing I found helpful is to have all the languages selected in your DF, and Q. Then do something else. One of the times it popped for me it surprised me as I forgot I Q'd, this was at the 63min mark. Since the Q times have gone up I have been able to get CRP and WVR up to 50, so that's a plus.

The long queues will stay for few months, we might see a spike of new ROG/NIN during the holidays, but it will not reach the same level of long queue as right now.

I suspect now everyone in FF14 team keep playing tanks and healers to clear the queue! ^^;

They should let ya queue low level roulette with at least one friend. So all the new dps people at least have something to help them get into queue. Obviously this can be done outside roulette, but would help a lot to get that extra bonus.

Try being a new player who loves playing his PUG who can't even get into level 15 story mission Sastasha to even see what it is like.
