Character Selection Screen ~background/music~

In the current character selection screen, you have your character, and you can move him around, and see his armor/weapons. While this is cool, I was wondering if we could also have a background for the character, such as a representation of his home nation, and perhaps background music to go along with it. Essentially what FFXI, or even, WoW has.
Or heck, maybe even allow changing the color scheme of the introduction screen.

What do you guys think?

P.S. I much preferred FFXI's. It had an actual environment with your character stranding there, and it served as a nice window to the game world.

Yes, that would be rather nice actually.

'Specially if you could have some influence over this yourself, like choosing your character's theme, or background and music varying based on character's present location.

Especially if other people then got a taste of that when looking at your Lodestone profile >.>

That does sound like a nice addition, and I would appreciate the option to have it remain static (or as it is right now)

And speaking of select screen audio, for the love of all that is good, please lower the volume of your character select screen - I can't tell you how jarring it is to log out of the server (where relative volumes have been set) only to have background music blasting at full volume... it's enough to make you jump out of your chair at 2am!

In fact, why isn't there a volume slider in the in-game menu somewhere that controls ALL game audio, not just select options (like a master volume)?

Maybe in addition to that they can reposition the character in the creation screen. I play in eyefinity (triple screen) and in character creation my character is always in between the two screens where I can't see it... Anyway, minor problem.

Oh and I'm not trying to side track >.< I like OP's idea!

they should allow you to rotate your character when in creation because you cant see the back of the hair.. my friend who joined recently picked this one hair for miqote but didnt realize it was a ponytail lol

Pitri, you can rotate the character with ijkl.
