Don't waste time attacking the "Tentacles", just the "Arms". Also, don't bother attacking the arms when they show up without the Tentacles.

How do you people think I am saying this?
Honestly?
Having no problem clearing the fight, the kraken just has an absurd amount of HP and needs to be reduced.
The fight is super easy (even fast) if you READ the announced notes and REACT to them.
In a nutshell:
1: If you kill tentacles, he will reset the arms which allows very little time to dps the head. (don'tkill, just keep away from them)
2. If you kill the arms, he will be stunned for awhile, allowing ample time to dps.
Combine 1 and 2, and you should have no issues doing the fight in a short amount of time.
op,
maybe being in top gear for an ilvl80 dungeon makes it seem easy,
I can see that fight be much more challenging to low ilvl people especially due to its higher hp.
also if your rolling with randoms then maybe they don't know the fight too well but in two weeks most people will be acing it and it will be a lot faster.
strange awareness of ghosts that no longer haunt this shell.
Oh my god, the dps is fine. We kill arms in literally 1 second each. It's about just hitting the main body, it takes too long because it has too much HP. It's not a random party, it's me with three other
FC buddies and they are geared with High Allagan.
No other boss takes that's long. Why should this one?
What is so hard to understand about this. I know the strategy so there's no reason to keep mentioning it.
I run a iLvl 106 Drg that's soon to be 110. Trust me The Kraken's HP is INSAIN. Even with equal geared party members it still took us almost 20 minutes to whitle down it's HP. I actually fired lvl 2 LB 3 times on it before we killed it. Then The Black Mage fired off his lvl 2 to nuke the arms so we could take down it's last 10% before we timed out.
I get what the OP is saying. Others seem to think he is screaming doom that the dungeon is too hard. He's not saying that at all, he is merely stating the Kraken has too much HP. I actually agree with him on this. It felt like fighting an EX primal...
The difficulty etc is perfect and I think the Kraken was done justice this time, unlike Hullbreaker Isle.
As far as difficult bosses go, I think the first boss in Sastasha HM is more of a complicated boss that takes precise tactics or very high DPS output to get pass. Before someone comments with matimize yer geer and joo should be fine, I've cleared this dungeon plenty of times, I'm just stating difficulty on comparisons. The second boss is perfect in that dungeon![]()
The first boss? The one that is essentially "Can your healer clear status effects"?As far as difficult bosses go, I think the first boss in Sastasha HM is more of a complicated boss that takes precise tactics or very high DPS output to get pass. I hope you know that the ability "Prey" cannot be dispelled, it is a guaranteed stun against your teams tanker... That ability alone can cause a wipe. Someone rumored that the tether can be passed along to another team member, but I've yet to witness it. Unsure if it is a PC function or w/e. Anyway, the healer cannot dispel three slime quick enough to "guess" which teammate will be selected for the whirlwind to one shot especially with the DoT's the slime provides. There's plenty of mechanic to go around that fight to make it more difficult than either of the other two bosses in Sastasha HM.
prey from first boss can be passed to others and should be, that way tank can stun tail screw ( or you can just eat and just dispel the slimes) imhio either strat is fine
anyway I agree that kraken health is a little too much
