Or you could just ask, "Is everyone ready to go before I queue us up?" before hitting the queue button. I always did that as a courtesy anyway. And if someone doesn't answer, that means it's a no.

There can only be one party lead and it wont always be you. Some party leads will q up the moment you join. Like I said, you have to be careful/paranoid now. :P

But.... how difficult is it to find something to do in the game while waiting for your turn to come up?? 3 misses seems like a fair number to me.

This system is broken. I'm all for penalties for people maliciously withdrawing, but the way this was implemented is very discouraging for pretty much anybody.
The strike period should reset every 6 hours at max, not 24 hours for one thing. In the last few days I've received a 30 min lockout 3 times, usually because I'll queue for something and a friend will be like "I want to come too!" the moment after I press the button. I cancel and get locked out.
Now I got locked out for going out of window for no more than 60 seconds. Come back, 30 minute wait. I go and help a friend with something during the 30 mins, then queue back up with him to finally get this stupid trial done. He goes afk for a minute, queue pops, he doesn't click, and I am the one who is locked out for an additional 30 minutes and can't do ANY trial because he didn't click the button.
Really hope this system gets fixed lol.
Whiners gonna whine. System is fine as-is. Make sure your party is ready when you sign up, it's really not difficult.
It's been great to run ST without 15+ withdrawals before a single run.

My only issue with the system is what if you accidentally queue for the wrong duty? It happens! I feel like if you withdraw within like 10 seconds of registering for duty, it shouldn't count as a strike. Other than that, I feel the system is fine. Me and my friends were running dungeons yesterday and ended up getting locked out because we suffered the aforementioned "wrong duty" syndrome... and the third time, I had go AFK longer than expected.
We all just did something else instead; it's not really a big deal.

Erm...it doesn't. I register for duty, withdraw numerous times if I choose to go a different class or if I have to enter a class instance etc. It counts when the Commence window pops up and you withdraw.

Hmmm... I wasn't the one queuing for duty when it happened, so I probably wasn't paying attention.
Thanks for clearing that up though; I can say I have no issues with the system now!

Anything that smites the waves of idiots fishing for ques is worthwhile compared to a few innocents getting run over in the process. You get three strikes, if you have 3 accidents a day, that's your own fault.
Why is it that complainers about the lockout such as yourself never mention its only 30 minutes per incident and resets fully the next day? Amazing you always seem to leave out that small detail.Obviously. As getting people locked out after a mere third miss over a full 24 hour period is a good thing. Its nothing more than a very poor decision. And I'm baffled to see just how many players apparently blindly accept such bs, rather than asking for the devs to implement an alternative system to hinder in progress fishing in normal queues without punishing occasional misses.
