    I don't think any of us are blindly defending the system.

    The people that constantly cancelled the queues before are complaining. The people who rarely cancelled the queues before are overjoyed.

    For the example of "a friend said they want to come too" - did you ask before you queued up or did you just mention casually in your FC that you were doing XYZ after you hit the queue button? We always give a round of "anyone want to come with me on $content" before mashing the queue button, just in case someone is bored or needs a queue buddy.

    Note that the penalty does not apply unless the Commence window has appeared. If you've just queued up, you can drop any time before that window appears with no penalty. For tanks and healers who are used to insta-queue, that's not much help... but again, that's why you make sure you're absolutely ready before you smack the Join button.

    It is possible to not care about preserving the ability to fish for 2/3 in progress runs and still not like the system. It's nice that it has reduced the withdrawals (not eliminated, I'm still getting a number of withdrawals, particularly late night). But some are complaining that they think there are better ways to solve the problem.

    Even those asking for "in progress only" aren't necessarily doing so to make things easier to fish. Even with the current system you can have people making a few fishing attempts a day. I'm assuming that since the withdrawals seem later at night, there's still some of this going on. I would like in progress only so ALL of those people get out of the queues with normal people. And before you complain that all the tanks will use it, remember that there are only so many in progress slots to fill, so if lots of tanks start using it they're all going to have to wait a while. I would ALSO like the actual progress to be obscured. A 0/4 run and a 2/3 run should look no different. This adds risk to the in progress option and will discourage people from using it. You may recall when they did this for the original CT. I personally found withdrawls for that dungeon went WAY down after that was introduced, and withdrawals for ST has been better. So it gets ALL the in progress fishers out of the queue, and then discourages them from using it by giving them unpredictable results and a long wait time due to competition. Most tanks will choose to go back to the "normal" queue and just avoid the hassle.


    But even if you think in progress only queues are a bad idea, the fact still remains that there is no good reason to penalize the whole group if someone withdraws. This is a bad addition to the game.

    Not everyone lives in a world of extremes. I've never "fished" and I have yet to get a strike against me because I'm careful. I simply dislike the idea of a party-wide penalty. I'm fine with the rest of the penalty system

    I'm really happy they added this, because it was goddamn annoying that every single CT/ST queue since launch required you to wait for 15+ withdraws before you could get into the stupid dungeon.

    I actually feel like doing the final CT in patch 2.5 won't be a chore now because you'll actually be able to get in when the queue pops and get on with doing the goddamn thing.

    Only if it's a 0/4 that already had people leave. I don't believe people abandon right away. I've never seen it happen, actually. They always wait a few min.

    I honestly think it's a good adition to the game, it punishes the people that just trolled the Duty Finder and makes others have more awerness of the queue so they don't get a strike if they miss the duty ready pop. It only bothers the people that abused the duty finder in my opinion tbh.

    I'm not really certain why SE decided to approach it this way. Filtering people into random dungeons randomly, instead of allowing them to pick and choose whether they would deign to enter an in progress run, makes far more sense than a penalty of ANY sort. The dungeon finder shouldn't show you how many bosses are done or what the dungeon is. You go in, do the randomly selected dungeon, and get your reward. Or you leave and eat the deserter penalty. That's the only penalty that should apply. This is just another example of SE listening to a handful of people who just want to punish other players instead of finding a real solution to the issues.

    Either that or a penalty for the amount of withdraws within a certain time period, such as 3 minutes, would be more appropriate and would address the fishing. 3 withdrawals over a period of an hour really doesn't address the in-progress fishing that I assume this was designed to solve. DPS withdrawing wasn't really the issue, as annoying as someone missing a raid queue may have been.
