    Apartment Housing

    I want a room like the inn, but one I can customize. I'd like for there to be a new kind of lot in the housing areas where you can find a huge building, and in it have a lobby where people can interact and perhaps play games introduced in future patches. Then we can interact with a door that takes you to this room that you can purchase one time and it's yours for good. But of course, let the stuff from your inn room transfer to this room too.

    It be nice to log out there and wake up the next day, exit to the lobby and find people just logging in, saying hello to your neighbors. This is a cheaper setup for people who don't want a big fancy house or a room in their FC.

    Would be nice, considering Phantasy Star Online 2 has something like this as well.

    I actually support this idea, but they'd have to give some sort of advantage to having an FC private chambers over this.

    Instanced rooms are probably the only way SE can salvage the mess that is housing as it currently is. Having personal rooms gated behind FC housing was a terrible idea, even the largest FC's fade into obscurity after several years. Personal housing is far from being available for everyone, the plots available are nowhere near numerous enough to supply even a decent percentage of server population. I still have no clue why SE has decided to make housing so exclusive, when practically every other MMO on the market hands you a house/room well before max level.

    I bought an FC room out of curiosity, then figured it was a waste of time and money. It's just "there" for people to walk in and admire how much money you've thrown away. I know some people may take this personal, but it's true. I have more fun in my inn room playing with the toy box, interacting with my retainers and sometimes getting a haircut. I just imagine how much more fun would it be to customize the room and invite friends in to play games, chat or whatever. Also, sleep in my room and wake up the next day.

    I guess it's a big deal for me to feel like I have my own place in a game, a place I can certainly feel proud of, and the FC room is just something that doesn't make any sense to me.

    This question was actually addressed in a recent interview, and they basically said the issue is that instances aren't saved, and since people will generally want to be able to do all the things a normal house can do anyway (both now and into the future, like airship building, etc.), it's better to just let everyone have full/real houses rather than creating a less-featured one. Of course, on busy servers, they'll need to add a ton of capacity to do that.

    In terms of the "cheaper" issue... I think they simply don't have a vision for housing being something that's for everyone, but rather they want people to see it as an investment they work towards in end-game (and a bit of a gold sink). The reverse auction would help with pricing if there were enough supply (which there now is on some worlds, but not others).

    Then how does an NPC Town that is out of render range of every single player in the game get "saved"?

    I actually suggested something like this a while back but it was a moment thing plan so I only got this much for Personal housing idea...

    It starts out as a Inn Room size with a small Balcony for outdoor housing content that support a small Pot Garden (Pot Gardens can only hold 2 seeds).

    Then there is the expansion upgrades for the Personal Apartment being that there is a expansion for Room expansion with 1st expansion being a larger room, 2nd expansion adding a small 2nd room, and Final expansion increasing the size of the 2nd room.

    The Balcony expansion starts out as 1st expansion increase the Balcony size to support Chocobo Nest (1 Chocobo Stable) and adds more room for more Outdoor Housing stuff, 2nd Expansion increase balcony size again, 3rd expansion increase balcony size to small house yard size.

    Of course expansions will cost gil since you're asking for upgrading a Apartment room inside a building owned by the Adventure Guild. Apartment Rooms should be obtained by buying one at one of the City States and depending on where you have your Apartment determine the texture and balcony view of the Apartment.

    I very much agree and wish wholeheartedly I could have my own customize-able inn room. Next to chocobo raising and gardening there is NO real reason to own a house other than to show it off with all the useless vanity stuff you can stuff in it ^^;

    I support this. As nice as personal/FC housing is, it's barren. Rarely see anyone around because they're either all huddled up in their house, or they only visit their house to tend to crops, then they're gone for the rest of the day doing whatever elsewhere. If you even run into them, that is, the houses are far enough spread out that interractivity among the community in wards just seems dead.

    Not to mention, there is very little reason to ever go to a ward that your house isn't in. And theres very little reason to even leave the general area of your house in the ward due to being able to just warp directly to your houses aetheryte. But a cheaper elternative that could bundle the community up in some type of lobby with personal rooms would be nice. So long as there's reason to actually go there.

    But after all the time they spent releasing new houses, and with the amount of houses there currently are out there, I cant really see this happening. It would potentially be TOO good of a replacement to personal housing.
