Same happens to me AFTER most of the mission cutscenes. It seems like a cruel joke at first I waited for months for even handful of new cutscenes and now that we have a few they break the rest of the game =(

I've logged out and into a second character before just to find the fraramerate drop is still there.

Completely closing out FF14 seems to fix it but... If I'm in the middle of a quest I'm constantly afraid another cutscene will just put me in the same boat again (it has happened before) so I struggle through the choppy nausea inducing slideshow to complete the quest then close out ff14.

    Greetings you two!

I apologize for the trouble you have been going through with the sudden framerate drop. The thread was moved over from In-Game Bugs to Technical Support. They may be able to help resolve the concern here. Thank you for posting!

Yea, I ran into this problem again at the Dzemael Darkhold with the gate opening cutscene and added it to my original post here. I've noticed that when the bug happens everything on my PC is lagged up affecting everything from minimizing the app or moving a moving a folder window around the screen. I'm start to think this may be a problem with the game application itself rather than an in-game bug.

What are your system specs Leknaat? Maybe we'll find some similarities with our PCs.

My system specs in the spoiler:

    Same here

I have the exact same problem.

In-game lag after cutscenes, (and when there's a second cutscene, if you managed to get until there, it's back ok for the time of the CS, but in-game is dead)

Lag affecting the whole PC, resolved by completely exiting FFXIV, not only logging out.

    Friend in party wasn't affected.

    I'm thinking about a game-System specs. bug.

    Mine is:

    Win7 64,
    ASUS P6T Deluxe v2,
    i7 920
    6GB DDR3
MSI 580GTX (tryed 3 different drivers versions)

Can other people who have the bug report their System specs as well? I think we're not the only one having this exact same problem.

mmmmhhhh i make a lot of try when I read about this problem.

    Win 7 64 bit
    I7 2600k
    Saberthoot P67
    8GB RAM
    GTX 590

I ran in this framerate drop with 2600k @3400 mhz (Stock)
After this i return to my usual daily OC @4500-4700 mhz and no framerate drop happen.

Surfing the net i see that a lot of person that have an SSD have this problem becouse they disable pacaging file to preserve SSD lifespan, but without this sometimes with RAM heavily used they trigger this lag.

So far the two similarities I see we all have is that we're all running an Asus motherboard and using an Nvidia card. I wonder what Leknaat is running?

It seems odd that it would be a RAM usage problem on a an 8GB machine w/o pagefile: Even on 64 bit windows, the game can only use 2GB at the most, since it's 32-bit and doesn't have the large address flag enabled. Maybe try not having chrome & firefox with 200 tabs each open at the same time while playing the game?

I confess using my internet navigator with lot of tabs, but there's still plenty available.
My i7 920 is @3.8Ghz and i'm not using an SSD.

    dunno

Can a developper give us a suggestion?

I'll add that all of us who posted specs have an GeForce 110-based hi-end CG, not suppose to run into this kind of problem anyway -_-"
