Fact: I am not hard-wired to think sexualy. In fact, things went over my head for a very long time until a few people felt the need to "educate" me. Most, however, respected my innocence, and liked me all the more for it, I think. It's hard to say since they weren't telling me that directly.

Fact: My husband would never let me out of the house dressed like that. Not because he's controling, but because he knows exactly how men think. Many an honest man has confirmed the same thing. Yes, of course there are exceptions, on both sides.

As for scientists, nothing they have to say is going to trump common sense. I'm not an animal, and I'm not going to act like one. Throughout history, yes, the sexes have been very onesided, and that was wrong, but people often can't seem to find a balance in things, they always seem to go from one extreme to the other. To try to make men and women exactly the same... it's apples and oranges. You just can't. Women are emotional, men are factual/visual. Men are physically stronger. Yes, in general. The amount will vary from person to person.

Firstly, your facts are circumstantially based, once again, on training and conditioning from your formative years forward. Insinuating that your innocence is indicative of your biological hard-wiring or lack thereof is faulty logic. Not understanding social cues isn't hard-wiring, it's being uneducated, as you said yourself. Insinuating that men, honest or not, agree on how other men generally think only further confirms conditioning of what's acceptable behavior among men. Your facts are only proving contemporary Western society's training of what is and is not acceptable between genders. If you want to claim that as an anthropological fact, that's fine. Calling it a fact of "hard-wiring", however, is false.

Secondly, your hubristic statment about 'common sense' versus science simply tossed any and all credibility to your argument out the window. You most certainly are an animal, miss. "Acting" like one, by which I'm assuming you mean "thinking sexually", is a mechanism that all living organisms (that don't reproduce asexually) operate on. We as human beings are not above basic biological functions, simply because we want to be. What you're mistaking for common sense is simply arrogance and presumption. It's one thing to refrain from "debauchery" because you personally choose to. It's another to claim it's all due to some unfounded assumption that you cling to just because it lets you sleep at night.

YEAH!!! Can't wait!! It really looks fun and it seems tied tot he story/lore of the upcoming disasters. Yes I will enjoy looking at my male hyur in his swimwear but it's just a plus to the event itself and fireworks!

Just because people don't want to make an issue about it doesn't mean everyone is happy about this. Those bikinis are slutty. If you take that as an insult, well then maybe you ought to think about it. "Everybody's doing it." is hardly an excuse.

As for FF, yes, they have had some sexualized stuff, but they have never gone this far before. I watch a lot of anime; I know exactly what type of stuff Japanese shows are capable of. I have always appreciated that FF kept it more toned down, and it's one reason I love the series so much.

Am I calling SE out on this? A little bit I suppose. The worst thing is, I actually like the basic idea of the event. But no, I won't be participating. In my mind, while sex is by no means a taboo subject, it is in the end a private thing between me and my husband. I don't put myself on display for every man to oogle.

Just for clarity's sake, so no one thinks this is onesided on my part... for all the boys out there in the harnesses and underwear (there have been a few strutting around on my server), all I have for you is a massive eyeroll.

Okay, this has gotten to be a little much. While I agree with the majority opinion here that the swimsuits in the game are a completely socially acceptable addition, considering it is for a summer themed event, in a game that is rated T for "Suggestive Themes." I think you guys need to cut Chezen some slack. She is simply expressing her personal moral values, and attacking them solves nothing. Some of you are getting dangerously close to hypocritical territory by extolling the values of a sexually liberal society while at the same time condemning an opposing view on someone's personal expression of sexuality. A liberal society means people get to express themselves how they choose, whether they be extreme or conservative.

She knew where she was walking in, none in his right mind would agree with her unless he believes in the same religion as her (cause I am sure its a religious issue).

If she wanted to convert any of us here, she failed, if she wanted to just state her oppinion she should have stopped after first post, if she just wanted to troll then she would go on spoiling the fun of everyone else with her completely unreasonable posts.

I believe it's the third that's happening here, so next time, if she wants her opinion respected she should respect our opinions first by keeping her comments to herself.

FF always has kept things nice. Now they make it a lil bit into a game where all pervs will come together.

So the working girls in the mining guild are fine? the numerous references to pillow houses in uldah were cool? the insinuation of trading sex for promotion was peachy keen? making earrings for piercings in "Sensitive" places are on the level?
