This is just me but.. I feel it's far more harmful for children to be taught to be ashamed of their own bodies, and afraid of others'.
I'm happy to see that more people these days feel comfortable in their own skin (enough that bikinis aren't taboo or something). Times are changing.

I'm proud of SE for adding bikinis. :3 It shouldn't be a controversial topic. We're still covered where it matters.
