most people who have played an MMO today have played World of Warcraft. I have played World of Warcraft, still do, and have since 2008. They expect to be able to do the main story or a series of quests to level up.
It's honestly weird coming into FFXIV and seeing that there is a cap on levequests for combat classes... FATE grinding gets boring. Queues are long for DPS players.
You can say "oh, well go play a tank or something", but I have primarily played a Warrior since 2.0 launched. Both of my tank classes are level 50 and most of my duties were completed on them.
So, it's like, excuse me for wanting to mix it up. Excuse me for not wanting to have to sit in queue for a couple of hours because we have the healers, the damage dealers, and the cupcake holders that don't really contribute anything to a group but are needed due to game design and are really just very awkward in their implementation and unfun to most players to play which takes it's toll queue times.
