DF Penalty

Okay, I know it's to prevent people from in-progress fishing but it is seriously making me frustrated. I wait a bit over three hours to get queue and it doesn't pop so I walk away for 2m to grab some water and come back to see it say I missed queue and it threw me on a 30m penalty. Is the goal of non-instant queues supposed to be making people stare at the game god knows how long until it pops? You are limited to soloing everything while excluding story scenarios, partying/finding, and summoning a chocobo. If you reach level 50 on everything then you are even more severely limited by this system for the sake of what? Punishing one person? I would rather I have them spam my queue nonstop for ten minutes straight than to get this annoying penalty.

Does it really take you 2 minutes to get water? Takes me all of 10-15 seconds. Even if i go to the bathroom while waiting i'll probably make it back in time to click commence. You have to do this three times or more in a day to get a penalty so you only have yourself to blame. Not that it's really changed much being in queue for ST is still a nightmare because of DPS not bothering to click commence since they are off procrastinating somewhere.

Going downstairs to get a glass of cold water? Yes, I'm not going to stare at my screen the entire time and not everyone is going to dedicate hours to staring at their screens or rushing to grab food/water just so they don't miss the queue on a game.

Think of queuing for the DF like getting ready for a long road trip. Before you start, make sure you use the restroom and eat. If you think you'll be thirsty, bring a soda/water/other beverage to the room with you, AWAY from your rig o'course. Don't need any accidents.

i have a barfridge in my room beside my bed = dont have to travel far to get a drink of water/soda etc :P

Agreed... the amount of times I've had to wait in a queue because someone's dropped out is getting on to laughable xD

I never leave my queue unattended because it's rude to other players to make them wait. If you want to leave to use the toilet or get some water leave queue first or enter queue after you've come back.

You can always browse the web while you are in queue too since you said you don't like looking at the screen >.>.
