Garlond Goggles please!
Garlond Goggles please!
Hell to the no. No, no, no and a thousand times: NO. I definitely do not want to see any past content and preorder/CE/crossover/merchbonus stuff in the cash shop, ever. Does exclusivity and special status not mean anything to anyone anymore?? I mean yeah, I feel sorry if you missed it, I know I'm sad I don't have a few items - and still. No putting those in the cash shop please. It's giving up the point of having them exclusive/special in the first place. Imagine you're a contest winner and you're gifted one of those Ahriman necklaces. Then SE has a thought one day and they put the Ahriman necklace in the cash shop, making it available for everyone to buy (no, no, no, please do not ever do that!). Would you feel it fair? I don't think so. Yeah, in fact, add contest prizes to that list too.
Please do not ever put any past content / preorder / CE / crossover / merchandise bonus / contest prize items in the cash shop. Thank you.
I generally do not support the cash shop idea in this game at all, to begin with. That said, if I absolutely have to say something I'd like to get... give me a wind-up Alphinaud minion already please ^^ and/or that hairstyle and/or that outfit. Thank you.
I started right after all the anniversary celebrations and thus missed all events, I would love to see the lightning stuff and at least some versions of the yukata![]()
Why? Out of spite? The principle of the thing? Preorder bonuses are the perfect thing to put in cash shoppes. Those who preordered got to enjoy their timed exclusives while anyone who missed out can still access these cool items. Everyone wins, except the people whose only enjoyment from a thing stems from the idea that other people cant have it. And, if you can't please everyone, its pretty obvious that those are the people who deserve it the least.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, we're trying to change the world." ~ The Protester
I can understand past seasonal items to an extent. Though I'd rather have them purchasable ingame like the past practice in ARR.
This is a MMO and not a regular single player or multiplayer game. Items have more value behind them here. The example of other games having preorder items as DLC is a poor one. Those games don't have the longevity like MMOs do.
Bonus Items shouldn't be in a Cash Shop, my opinion. Legacy items since sadly mentioned, should never even be considered, period.
Look all of two posts down from the one you quoted and I explain the why. It's not spite, it's simple ethics. Here. I'll even post it for you again. Why? Out of spite? The principle of the thing? We weren't given a timed exclusive. That'd be different. We were given an exclusive. As in, you will never be able to get this item again. That was the agreement. There's nothing spiteful or special snowflake about expecting a company to honor its agreements. And? I disagree with that too. Companies entice people to pre-order or buy the collector's edition with promises of exclusive items, then turn around and sell those "exclusive" items later. You don't find that shady?
.
It seems like a bad idea to offer an item as a perk to players who pre-order and then make that available as a separate purchase. As much as I'd like the cait-sith pet, I didn't pre-order so I don't have it.
Insanity is a gradual process, don't rush it - Ford Prefect
It is just evil and nothing should ever be bought from there.
Nothing should be cash shop exclusive >
In Game items should be earned in game.
Now that we got grump cat out the way, I myself do not wish to see the Moogle Cap on the SE store. to me it's kinda like a Thank yo for pre-ordering the game and to put it on the store, I think some people wont apperiacte it.
I don't have anything against the Cash shop mainly because they will use the funds to give us a better FFXIV EXP.

This goes against the conditions I wrote pre-Cash Shop for what would have to be done for me to lose support for it.
Offering any items attained from Collector's Editions, Pre-Order Bonuses, IRL Events, or Physical Merchandise should be prohibited on the Cash Shop.
I mean hell, I would very much like Hermes Sandals from 1.0 and would love nothing more than to have a new way to acquire such an extremely rare item. However, the fact of the matter is that the Hermes Sandals, Garlond Goggles, and everything else of that nature should not be brought back as it would utterly ruin the limited edition quality to them and any future items on the cash shop.
I started playing in 2.0, so I cannot access any items from the 1.X era except through Quick Ventures, and that's honestly how it should be unless the developers put it to a community vote, and the community overwhelmingly supports the idea.
