Why? Out of spite? The principle of the thing? Preorder bonuses are the perfect thing to put in cash shoppes. Those who preordered got to enjoy their timed exclusives while anyone who missed out can still access these cool items. Everyone wins, except the people whose only enjoyment from a thing stems from the idea that other people cant have it. And, if you can't please everyone, its pretty obvious that those are the people who deserve it the least.

And? I disagree with that too. Companies entice people to pre-order or buy the collector's edition with promises of exclusive items, then turn around and sell those "exclusive" items later. You don't find that shady?

We weren't given a timed exclusive. That'd be different. We were given an exclusive. As in, you will never be able to get this item again. That was the agreement. There's nothing spiteful or special snowflake about expecting a company to honor its agreements.
