I don't mind the cash shop because it is not in the game. it's not as if they are shoving it in your faces. Besides, it is only vanity items. I bought the mount and the ghost costume. Oh and I agree that no CE items/preorder bonuses should ever be offered in the cash shop. They should remain exclusive.

That's like saying pre-order bonuses from games shouldn't be available as DLC later down the line. And yet, they become available later down the line as DLC.

I actually have a petition about offering past event items in the cash shop.

I don't understand why people want to pay for content that could be free in game. These event items were available for gil even if you missed the past events. For the pre-order stuff and exclusives, personally I understand that regret for missing out on cosmetics. That's one of the reasons why I'm fighting for these items to be put back in game where they originally were offered (not for myself but for future players). This definitely a great topic to think about. I would rather they offer these items as a preorder for new expansions than just tossed in the cash shop. If we're stuck with the cash shop (which we are), then let it provide items that are worth the cost, not items they just throw in their willy-nilly.

Lightning costumes? Why can't they provide that event annually during their anniversary? Same with the dragon quest event. There are other options for us to ask for than the one that pulls more money from our pockets. This is a subscription game. ^^

The ability to have something special is a driving factor for some players. If everything is destined to be available for purchase, then there's a feeling of pointlessness.

That said, yes, the goobbue is a bad example, since they are actually different.

Just sell everything in the cash shop and stop using in game items as incentives. Anyone can get anything for the right price. Get it over with already.

I rarely ever see the mog cap anymore.


I would love to see the lightning returns event stuff permanently on shop since that event I doubt will ever come back and some people like me couldn't get the whole set so I'm stuck with gloves and weapons

There are plenty of things that i missed out on getting, but even if it might be nice to have them I still don't want to see them sold in the cash shop. I don't mind missing out on a few exclusives if it means there will be future exclusives that I'll be able to get.

There's nothing special snowflake about it. SE enticed people to pre-order items and purchase collector's edition by offering exclusive items you would not be able to get any other time. This was a real world financial agreement, not some gil-related in game item. The items were purchased with an implied agreement that they would not be duplicated. By duplicating them to sell in the cash shop, SE would be breaking that agreement. That's horrible business ethics. I don't know the legality of it, but I'm sure it's on iffy legal grounds at the least.
