    Massive screen tearing only recently

So I got back into the game after a year hiatus and the game seemed to have run fine. Now just yesterday I'm starting to get massive screen tearing. Flickering yellow blocks and flashing red and green bubbles are constantly filling up my screen. Any advice?

I have an nvidia gtx 660 gfx with drivers up to date if that helps any.

okay so after turning my graphic settings to high laptop, the tearing has seemed to stop for now. Still find it weird that its only started doing this since the other day.

Here's a link to the picture I managed to take. They happen so fast it's hard to take a screenshot of it happening. It's those little triangles and random red and green circles flickering on my screen

That looks like faulty gpu, to be specific, the shader units themselves are generating corrupt/incorrect geometric information.

You could try reducing the gpu's clock rate, or trying an older driver: but once you start seeing tha sort of thing it usually progressively gets worse.

Tried an older driver to no avail. Downloading a program that will let me reduce the clock rate and see what happens. In other words though this won't be a permanent fix and I'll have to get a new gpu? Oh well, the 900 series was looking pretty nice anyways.
